WHAT'S YOUR OPINION? I really want a daughter---but Thomas and I are not getting back together. Yet...I want all my children to have the same father. When my boys see little black girls on t.v.--they pressure me to get them a little sister. Should I ask Thomas to impregnate me with a baby girl even though we've gone our separate ways?

Are you prepared to handle the added stress of another child while trying to kick your writing career in high gear...and Thomas is GONE? And what about your safety/protection issues? Having a new baby with Thomas NOT being around might prove worrisome. And, unless you've got you own private genome thing happening, if if Thomas consents, there's a strong chances you'd get preggers with a another boy. What do you do THEN? You better 'pray' on this one, kid. And pray HARD! |

Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't have another baby. I just get these "gushes" of ideas. Maybe the real truth is that I just want an excuse to let Thomas have his way sexually--without a commitment. Which I know I don't want in the long run.

And you're right. I've only been pregnant with BOYS so far. 4 in all.

Kola, Perhaps there's something about your collective body chemistry that engender male children. I've recall loosely reading that differing ph levels within the uterus are more conducive for either X or Y sperm. Maybe you've have the latter in utero vintage. Funny. It always scares me whenever someone brings a baby around. The missus starts cooing and ahhing something awful. All of a sudden, her seductive powers quadruple I guess to facilitate conception. |

Adopt. (Course, it wouldn't solve the "same father" issue.) Or, IVF w/pre-genetic implantation diagnosis for sex selection (XX) using Thomas' sperm. Or, wait til your boys are old enough to give you daughters-in-law and granddaughters! Meantime, become a scout leader for a Girl Scout troop or something. But above all else, I agree--Think LONG and HARD before making any quick moves! (If I lived in Cali you could babysit my little ones...might change your mind, tho, about wanting daughters! LOL) |
