HOT DIGGITY DAMN!!! _____________ I just finished the new one by master of horror (and sometimes fellow board member)...BRANDON MASSEY. It's called "WITHIN IN THE SHADOWS" and with this one...Brandon has OUTDONE himself (which if you read his previous hits, you'd think was impossible). I'm not givin an IDLE shout out here. This is THE BEST... the absolute BEST "thriller--scary book" OF ANY RACIAL group that I've read in a LONG time. You thought "Fatal Attraction" was something....huhn, that was the "G" version. Wait'll you meet MIKA WOODS. Hot little brown babe in Atlanta---with devil's hair for veins. THIS BITCH is the ticket if you want a good summer read. I'm convinced that he based the lead character--Mika Woods---on ME! LOL I mean this girl is off the hook..... THOMAS is a huge fan of Brandon and through him I've come to LOVE all Brandon's books. You have to check out the other covers and stories below. But here's a PREVIEW of "WITHIN THE SHADOWS" Book Description Be Careful What You Wish For At just thirty-one, Andrew Wilson has it all: close friends, a great house in an Atlanta suburb, and a successful career as a mystery writer. Only one thing is missing—a special person to share it with. Then one day he meets someone new, a woman who seems almost too good to be true. Beautiful, smart, and sophisticated, Mika Woods is everything that Andrew has ever wanted and more—at first. After one night of passion, Andrew soon discovers that Mika isn't quite who she appears to be. Or even what she appears to be. But it's too late to turn back. Mika has been waiting a lifetime for a man like Andrew. And what she wants, what she desires, she will have—no matter who has to die… ******************* REVIEWS from AMAZON.COM: Reviewer: L. R. Giles "Writer" (Chesapeake, Virginia) - See all my reviews Within the Shadows is the new offering from suspense writer Brandon Massey. When author Andrew Wilson meets the heavenly Mika Woods in an Atlanta coffee shop he's instantly smitten with her beauty and poise, but when he realizes he may have moved too fast after spending a night with the woman she begins to show him there's nothing heavenly about her. The plot, when summarized, echoes of the 1987 film Fatal Attraction, but only vaguely. Mika Woods is not Glenn Close. Mika Woods would gut punch Glenn Close. And Michael Douglas. And still kill the bunny if it meant getting her man. She is relentless in her pursuit of Andrew, subjecting him to suffering that he just doesn't deserve. . . or does he? This question and others are answered in a swift narrative that weaves seemingly unrelated subplots into a primary tale that will have you shooting towards the shocking conclusion like a Black Talon bullet, all of your preconceived notions shattering on impact. Within the Shadows by Brandon Massey is a twisted love letter with a P. S. that no one will see coming. ________________________ L. D. Moore "word magician" (Dallas) - See all my reviews WTS is THE stand alone greatest horror novel that my eyes have graced! Cover to cover, Brandon Massey has seamlessly woven the perfect horror story with cross-genre appeal. These multi-faceted characters were those you instantly formed love-hate/hate-to-love/love-to-hate bonds with. Mika, the devil in diva's clothing, sets off the whirlwind drama, bringing stalking-to-the-next-level. How Mr. Massey was able to pull off delving into the female psyche was uncanny; and his portrayal of the male perspective on relationships was masterful. Clever clues dispersed throughout led to what could, perhaps, be a cliffhanger. The old school jams and the rural and suburban Georgia backdrops solidified the authenticity of the culture in which the characters thrived. WTS leaves you feenin' for the next installment from this gifted author. Last but definitely not insignificant- the sex scene: It proves that Horror can be HOT! HOT! HOT!

Lee Meadows, author of Silent Conspiracy: "A masterful work of suspense. Compelling and finely crafted." Book Description Written by an up-and-coming talent, "Thunderland" is suspense fiction in the classic, bestselling tradition. With this dark, raw, and haunting tale of a family shattered by a mysterious menace, award-winning newcomer Brandon Massey takes readers on a sublimely scary journey deep into the heart of Dean Koontz and Stephen King territory. Teenager Jason Brooks never expected to survive a tragic accident. But by some miracle he did recover, only to find that life is better than ever, with his new friendships, fresh experiences, and bright hopes for the future. Even Jason's parents, who had been drifting farther and farther apart, have renewed their commitment to their marriage. Kola, You are right about Brandon's novels. He is doing a great job with the horror genre and I am so very happy for him. Brandon started out self-publishing through Iuniverse some years ago, when I too was self-publishing a novel from the same company. I saw Thunderland at a B-Dalton bookstore and was so overwhelmed to see a fellow author that I bought it. I read it and emailed Brandon about the book. He was so very helpful. He tried his best to hook me up with his agent, and I was very appreciative of that, but even better he was willing to read my earlier drafts and comment. He told me that someone had come along and did the same with him....and now look at him. Kudo's and big congrats to Brandon! |
