Oh yeah. Jamaal and his boss Keido were both in the studio with me. That's me and Keido laughing and playing around. He's this cute light skinned Afro-King boy (aged 50+) and GENIUS. He's the owner of LIB RADIO and some other stuff here in L.A. He's so sweet and he's actually READ my books! Jamaal was laughing because I was being such a ......character.

Is it like a CROWD in the background??? If so, that's the AFIBA CENTER appearance where the NOI was supposed to confront me.

BOARD PEOPLE--- please forgive me, but there's NO WAY I could have known that Jackie Joice would come and start this thread. I realize that it appears that all we're talking about is KOLA all day and night. But I didn't even know that my speech at the AFIBA CULTURAL CENTER was online!

Erase the thread if you want. I figured this was the fastest way to let Kola know that Jamaal was playing her speech on his internet radio program. Kola, you were talking about Flesh And The Devil, your life, NOI, Farrakhan, and Jesus..

So I see he left out what I said about BLACK MEN's colorist dating practices in L.A. That was the best segment. The women nearly tore the roof off that place during that portion.

I wish there was, ABM. That was one of my best audiences---and I really spoke powerfully that night. I NEVER plan what I'm going to say or have a speech written down----so I never know what I'm going to get when I stand up to emote. But with the NOI supposedly coming to confront me, and my refusal to cancel the appearance----TENSIONS were high and I spoke of love and the right to free speech and even said that I consider myself a "daughter of Farrakhan"----and that daughters sometime HATE their fathers. It was quite good. I do hate that he edited out the very powerful segment where I spoke about Black men's notorious colorism in American. Talk about emotional responses. There were "MEN" nodding and cheering me....black teenaged girls in tears.....older black women SHOUTING, stomping their feet and jumping up and down. And of course, some of the men were ducking their heads in their armpits, visibly squirming----as it was my LONGEST segment. But that is what he should played on the radio.

I think I made it clear that I didnt' have anything against the NOI. Basically, it's THEM who have hounded me on behalf of the North African governments. And as I pointed out----I don't even consider the NOI to be a legitimate religious body, but rather a political organization. I made it quite clear that I wasn't going to be bossed around by ANYONE....and the crowd cheered. The Muslims at the showing came up and hugged me after my speech and actually purchased my books. It was very nice, and of course, sense then----the NOI has suggested that I speak at the upcoming MILLION MAN MARCH. But someone higher up recently removed that offer off the table. I think their L.A. Mosque leader was being premature and not fully aware of my "politics". And to be quite honest---if I went to the Million Man March, I would go as Marilyn Monroe. I'd wear something devastatingly sexy, maybe even go topless and sing "My Master, My Husband" and dance the GEECH. That's what I would do.

Kola, Too bad. Sounds like it was a riot! And I think it's smart you don't write down whatcha gone say. That makes what you do less editable plus there's less avaible evidence to use against you when you've (mistakenly/intentionally) done something dumb. Too bad they clipped your stop-chasing-White-ho's segment. They probably feared offending the (MANY) BM/WW couples you often chide. Btw: Sometimes sons hate their father too. Probably more often than the daughters. |

With all those eligible men in the audience, you may as well make the best of the moment. |

Forget about eligible men. The goal is to PSYCHE them out. They keep trying to pigeonhole me as some kind of "Archetype"....my detractors paint me as a grim, dangerous FEMINIST instigator. I like to show the DIFFERENT SIDES of Kola Boof. I really feel it's important for black men NOT TO BE ABLE to cast me in the mold of "unattractive lesbo-feminist complainer" the way they do MOST black women activists and writers. I really LOVE men and I live for their attention. That's my MAIN complaint.

I have decided to change my game plan. From now on...I will not downplay my looks. My gown and makeup at the AFIBA CENTER appearance was the "new feminized Kola". My upcoming video shows me a voluptuous, sexually viable INTELLIGENT, Well Rounded Spiritual Sex pot and MOTHER----with a sense of humor. I find it important to RE-invent Feminism so that it serves us STRAIGHT WOMEN and is not pained as a Lesbian thing.

Kola, Oh. Don't worry, they'll "pigeonhole" your @$$ all right. Not sure, though you'll be satisfied with the 'hole' they're pursing. Kola: "I really feel it's important for black men NOT TO BE ABLE to cast me in the mold of "unattractive lesbo-feminist complainer" the way they do MOST black women activists and writers. ABM: Oh. So that's NOT what most of them are? Or are you just attempted to avoid being included within that rhetorical, social monolith? |

Kola: "My upcoming video shows me a voluptuous, sexually viable INTELLIGENT, Well Rounded Spiritual Sex pot and MOTHER----with a sense of humor." ABM: Add being barefoot and pregnant cook with a six-pack in your hands to those, and you'll have brothahs bawling with joy in the aisles. |

ABM, I don't see Alice Walker as an unattractive lesbo-feminist complainer. I think she's one of our most brilliant MOTHERS ever...and that black men have missed out on a truly powerful woman. Ditto Toni Morrison, who was VERY attractive and had the sexiest voice as a young woman. She's still beautiful NOW in her 70's. Gayl Jones was a real brown skinned beauty and VERY feminine. Let's not forget that Maya Angelou was a "stripper" in the 1950's and actually "Pimped" prostitutes at one point in her life. Talk about drama. But once you dare to speak as a black woman.... there's this DE-womanizing that's imposed upon you. This is how they DISMISS the importance of what you're saying. But I intend to linger in the brow hairs of men. I have skills, as a slut and manipulator, that Academic women could never employ. I don't see that as a liability. It's FORTUNATE that I'm not a good church girl from YALE, to be honest.

Kola, Yeah. But here's part of the problem: All the chick you cited are collecting social security and pensions. Where's dat hootie mack sistah who both righteous in the book and the booty departments? THAT's where the party's at! 'Cause men on a very basic level define a woman by essentially one criterion: Whether in a crunch he'd have sex with her. All that other stuff is tangential to that core inclination. And you might be quite stunned by what some "good church girl" is capable of. Especially one from "YALE" ( ;) Mah). |

ABM!!!! I wasn't thinking of Mahogany when I said YALE. GOSH. I keep forgetting she went to that school. I think of Mahogany as a Kola girl. She's SOOOOO down to earth and smacky-mouthed. But thanks for the OP. Annnnnd...the HOLLYWOOD novel is going quite well. I'm good at this type of book, although, it's REALLY lightweight. But there's NEVER been a "black" Hollywood novel this good. This is GOOD.

Baa...baa...baa! ;-) Hmm...I'm the black sheep. But...I was not in a singing group at Yale--and the Baker's Dozen, not the Whiffs (who popularized the above) were my favorite. However, I DID once enjoy cups at Mory's! Bottoms up! |
