I know it's easy for me to say. But please try to avoid worrying too much.
This is a hollow threat.
If these people were ever to seriously attempt to harm you they'd make your message more potent than it already is, especially if they attempted to hurt you in the US.
Because it seems to they they'd be committing the most egregious of blunders: To cause African Americans to become enraged with Islam.
And even Farakkhan himself wouldn't want THAT to happen.
I'm sure you and your sons will be just fine. And I will PRAY for your health.
PS: The cannibalism charge I can kinda buy, though. Seeing as you once threatend to bite off my d*#$ and eat it. And, silly me, I thought you were just teasin'. Hehe! |

Kola,
I'd like to echo others regarding thoughts for you and your family.
I have a question that may be ignorant, but--
What is with the charges that you are "known to eat human flesh"? Is that a metaphoric charge? Or is it serious? Are there folks who are really in fear of cannibals eating them personally or something?
I'm not trying to be funny. I really am curious. It just seems like such an odd, out of historical place and time accusation to level at someone.

I don't want to alarm you but you need to take this seriously. These people are creating a climate in which you could be harmed--they do the talking, some crazed misguided soul who wants to make a name for himself does the dirty work--they don't have to have any connection with them.
In this manner Farrakhan himself has had to accept responsibility for the death of Malcolm X ("I helped create a climate in which his murder was carried out")
Such persons are apt to be easy to spot--keep your eyes open. |

I do take this very seriously.
But Farrakhan is actually on my bottom list of men to worry about. And TODAY, his organization actually offered an olive branch, which I won't believe until my appearance is SAFELY over tomorrow night. (Also, the radio station ratings went through the roof during my appearance this past Monday----so they've invited me back again this coming Monday for their show).
I don't have a beef with the NATION and this is why I told their people off on the radio----I just don't have patience for their questions, because they aren't in my REALM.
Who I fear far more than Osama or Sheik Omar Bakri.......is Hasan al-Turabi, who is the most deadly and vicious terrorist on earth, and little known to Americans. In 1995, I was his mistress and he is the one who actually signed the Order in Sharia in 2002 for me to be beheaded. Through Gamal Ibrahim, it's Hasan who is trying to silence me.
So you see, I really need allies....and the United States Government, while very hard to "trust", is the most important one I could have. Not only that, but the Black Americans themselves are providing a good SHIELD, as the Mullahs in North Africa don't want to piss off their only CONSTITUENT in the U.S.----I am the mother of two small boys, after all.
But this has been a part of my life for nearly a DECADE now, Chris. Long before I had my sons.
And once you piss off the Mullahs----it will ALWAYS be a climate in which you could suddenly die.
My threat to those men....is that killing me will only make into a FORCE of which they won't be able to ignore (as they can now).

ABM.....I'm back home!!!
My EVENT at the Afiba Cultural Center was a BIG HIT..huge!!
The Muslims who did come, listened quietly and they actually applauded me and hugged me and purchased my books at the end of my SPEECH and Answer and Question Session.
I stuck to MY VIEWS and made it clear that I have no beef with Farrakhan and that he would be smart not to create one. A video of the "appearance" will be online soon, I'm soon through AFIBA.
It went very well and I'm home safely now.

Yes, it went SHOCKINGLY well ABM.
ANNNNNNNDDDD....
My ratings were so high last Monday for the KPFK radio show "Innervisions"..........that they're having me for the entire hour AGAIN tomorrow (Monday at 1 pm Pacific time). You can listen at their website online kpfk.org 90.7 FM in Los Angeles.
So you see, the Muslims made my radio appearance a SMASH HIT....KPFK got their highest rating in that time slot than they've had in 5 years. For the FIRST TIME EVER---"Innervisions" hit #1 in its time slot and actually beat the White Competitor Show on KFI. We started at 1 pm with a 1.6 rating and had a 6.4 rating by the last 15 minutes of the hour.

Back to the AFIBA CENTER.
It's amazing to me that I am really so loved by these people who come to the events. The WOMEN were just cheering and stomping all throughout my speech---some were in tears at the things I had to say---and I'm such a good speaker, thank God, although my voice is hyper and runs out while I'm talking.
And the men love hugging and holding me. And it seems that my events are the ONLY PLACES where I meet lots of men who are Taller than me! LOL
Anyway, because of the threats---there were MORE MEN (about 70%) than women at the event. My activist friend Charles Uniteus brought a whole busload of rough black guys just to protect me. And my Jewish Prince came out to protect me (the 1 white person in the entire hall--he was so cute and brought me flowers).
There was this GORGEOUS green-hazel eyed Lightskinned BIKER...a Harley Davidson riding Hells Angel....who came and brought his 8 yr. old son. GOD was he sexy!!! He was so into me backstage but we got into an argument because he was TOTAL denial about the "colorism" issue. He just refused to acknowledge it and claimed that he DID NOT notice that most black men in the media are paired with (and flaunt) Non-Black women. He said the women looked black to him---so from there, I couldn't stand his ass.
But he kept "protecting" me.
A man from the CONGO, who had heard me on the radio, came out to see me. His mother and grandmother had been SLAVES in the Congo, owned by Arabs (white Arabs--the ones they NEVER show on t.v. who are the actually the majority). He was very protective and sweet, but he was NOTICIBLY uncomfortable when I spoke about being "infibulated" and the horrors of SEXISM in Africa. To him---I was airing dirty laundry in front of Black Americans.
I've told my publisher that I don't EVER want to do any signings in THE WINDY CITY again. So we won't be booking any.

How does all the recent 'love' you receive from Black men during your public appearances influence your viewpoint and writing?
Do you think the affection you receive from males to be a sincere, material of reflection Black men as whole?
Does their acclaim and embrace give you pause on some of your more condemnatory opinions about us?
Or do you think they're mostly just puttin' on by virtue of your celebrity, thus they don't really influence what you think and do? |

Well, ABM...
I DO NOT think that the "kind" of Black men who come to see me
....are the "GENERAL" majority types that populate the community.
These men are usually OLDER Than 35 and are "Afro-centric". Many of them look "crestfallen" when I bring up the realities of colorism, black women etc.----because this is Southern California, and most of these men feel just as Alienated as I do.
The crowds who come to see me BACK EAST are much younger black men----they want some connection to Africa and they cringe at my truths, but they find my passion to be enviable.
I am very confrontational....but infinitely LOVING towards men. In person, they can tell that I'm a mother and a cook and a sexually dutiful woman. They understand that I have STANDARDS of how the household must be run----and this is what men want. A disciplined woman who VALUES herself and be-damns anybody who doesn't.
I don't feel that the men WALK IN "loving" me.
I think it's the fact that I'm extremely confident and assured and that I STAND FOR SOMETHING...and make it clear that my loyalty is to MY WOMB (not to black men)....that makes them intrigued and affectionate.
I am prepared to hate them and kill them if that's what is best for MY SONS----and that always turns a man on.
I am very different from a Black American woman in many suttle but tangible ways and this is what MALES......AND BLACK FEMALES......really plug into and seem to appreciate. They want to develop a NEW WAY of looking at themselves and they want to fathom the source of the great "LOVE" I feel for them.
One thing about me---I don't allow for "sentimental" romanticizing of "Africa" and all that bullshit.
I am like nothing they've ever seen before or expected. I am REAL-er than what they thought.

It's just the blue algae in the river gets thick as the summer months approach and he was swimming and not taking precautions for wild water swimming.
He's got bloat mouth, stomach cramps, ear and nose infection and sore throat.
If he had waited for me----I would have been able to see where the pockets of algae have grown in the water and cleared the river banks, but.....they can't wait for me. They swam for hours this morning.
The baby is OK though. He always vaselines the inside of his nose good and swims the way I taught him. The big boy is a daredevil.

NOTE: Whenever you swim in rivers or lakes during warm weather months---you should coat vaseline inside your nose, which is where pathogens from Algae enter the body. Also avoid swallowing any water and wear goggles.
If you have someone who knows how to remove Blue Algae from the river banks or lake shore----then it's fine to swim without a care.
