Congratulations to our very own SISGAL...her fabulous new "biological mystery" promises to be a major release from "DOOR OF KUSH". This is already up at the Door of Kush web site---so I'm not the first to post it. Door of Kush: http://doorofkush.50megs.com/custom.html Of course Sisgal's gorgeous face adorns the back of the book. ______________ 18 months ago, Sisgal wrote a post about being frustrated with sending out her manuscript and not being given a fair chance to "break through". She was so right---because she's a very entertaining writer. So I'm really proud that GOD enabled me to help her break down the door and get published. She really deserves it. It's now available for PRE-ORDER at Amazon.Com http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0971201951/qid=1113961445/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-1528724-0783268?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Product Description: Isn’t it bad enough that Atlanta has become the murder capital of the nation? Handsome black detective ZACK MONSTAR thinks so...but as a deadly African virus is suddenly and seductively set loose upon the city that's been called ‘too busy to hate’...and as corruption and greed at the WORLD HEALTH SYSTEMS leads him to discover a web of diabolical paid-for murders and an intricate plot to exterminate Atlanta’s Black folks...it’s up to sexy Zack Monstar to risk everything, including losing the woman he’s falling in love with, to save his people and to shatter a billion dollar death industry run by greedy scientists who will do any and everything....to stop him. Diane Dorce evokes true terror in this sexy suspenseful BIOLOGICAL thriller from DOOR OF KUSH in SUMMER 2005.

NO. That is NOT Thomas. Nafisa Goma picked this book cover, it's a model. I think Thomas is cuter and has a better body, but I'm prejudice, of course.

Hey, Sisgal...your site looks gorgeous!! I love how the writing follows your cursor all around. EXCELLENT!!! and WOOOSHY. I love it. The book is really good. As for the "cover", my personal opinion is this-- (1) the model on the cover definitely draws women's eyes to the cover in a book store. (2) once they pick up the book, it says "A Biological Thriller" on the cover and has a needle---on the back, The Devil is there with a description of the story. (3) bookstores would place it in the Mystery section because the "Back" of the book says (Suspense Thriller--$14), which is how they decide where to put things. So, it will already be in the mystery section of a bookstore or library to begin with. (4) Things could be worse---Robert Wright wanted to show both Zack AND his "women" on the cover, which would have definitely made it look like a romance/relationship book. NAFISA compromised by having Zack being gorgeous and athletic on the cover with a SYRINGE and clearly framed by the words "Biological" thriller.....TWICE. So I don't see how someone could pick up the book and think it's a relationship book. ZACK is on the cover...alone...he's a cop, former baller, jogging. The book's title also does not sound like a "romance". But that's all just my opinion. _______________ The problem with small publishers is that they don't have a lot of money---notice how late the book is coming out, which is because my book and Chris's book did not do as well as they expected----so they tend to go for the BUCKS in marketing and they emphasize what they think will generate the most attention. If you saw some of the other covers that Robert had lined up, you would be glad that NAFISA found middle ground and went with this one. This cover totally goes with the storyline and each time the reader picks it up---they feel as though they're actually SEEING Zack on the cover and they can feel his "urgency" in getting to the bottom of the case. The inside design of the book is even better (IMO) than the cover. |

Sisg: From "the Region," huh? Don't suppose we're relation--seeing as how I use my real name here you probably would have noticed and asked if I was one of the East Chicago/Gary Perrys... Anyhow, congratulations about the book! |

Ooh, was y'all famous or sumthin? Naw, hey girl, whats up? It's funny, because that is how we relate, like people would say to me, "you one of them Sewell's?" I am from the mighty West Side, Cougar!" And thanks! |

No, no, no. Not famous--Just a whole bunch of us. We're all over East Chicago, Gary, Hammond. There are Perrys, Dunhams, Jacksons (no, not those Jacksons), and Williams. I couldn't tell you high schools except for the old East Chicago Roosevelt (that is no more) that my father and his sibs went to, a few cousins at Lew Wallace...that's all I can think of now. I grew up in Indianapolis--Just came up to the Region several times a year to get my hair done correctly and to learn to hold my own in fist- and verbal-fights!!! |
