Although I have no way of knowing EXACTLY how old I am...today March 3rd...is my birthday.

kola2

The just F.B.I. informed me that I can't go to Egypt. They believe that I will be killed if I go there. So now I've cancelled my book dates for APRIL...and have to cancel Egypt as well.

Valeria Doost is designing these gorgeous gowns for me to wear at the Medal of Honor event this month and I'm looking THICK in them....downright FAT in the comolaade one, so I have to start back walking 5 miles a night for at least two weeks.

kola

My face is hanging and I need a face lift, but I can't afford it, so I'll have to just stay on the lighting man's ass to light me right. I hate makeup, and as usual, won't be wearing much.

I have to sing....and that's the part I HATE.

When a woman gets an award in our culture, she has to either sing or make dinner for the whole village. But there's like a thousand people coming, so I have to sing.

PLUS, because of language...I have to sing one song for my Black American parents, one song for the Cushite tribes and one song for the Nubians.

I may have them cut the singing part out of the filmed DVD. I don't know yet, because trust me---I can't sing, and people at rehearsal try to be nice and claim--"You sound like Diana Ross". Which only makes me more nervous. Plus it's not easy to sing in so many languages.

I love my Medal of Honor GOWN though. It's really pretty, although on film--I'm not sure people will be able to see all the intricate designs that Valeria put on the front....there's an "applique" of Egyptian and Nubian symbols. Just gorgeous! It looks like a rich, creamy Wedding dress.

Happy birthday and much luv from the GranGy & Baba. I agree with the govt on the Egypt thing, there is such a thing as being too brave. We don't need another martyr. You are too valuable to us alive. Peace and blessings.

once again: happy birthday!

LOL about the trying-to-be-nice-people saying you sound like Diana Ross! Now you made me curious about your voice. (maybe you should take some singing lessons from Anthony Santos, before the big day ;)

I hope you don't let yourself be seduced into a face lift, Kola.
First of all, you don't need one and secondly, if there is any sackyness in a man's body or face, he can leave it like that and still look attractive, so you as a woman can be the same.

Haven't you got any clue of what your birthyear,-place and hour might be?
..it would be interesting to check your personal horoscope

Happy Birthday Queen Kola!! I'm sending greetings and blessings and wish I could see you in person during at least one of your tour dates. It's a shame about the return to Egypt. You'll get there soon.

Hi Ashera, (Obie you're next)

People still expect me to look like this:

kola
Miss Afro-Morocco 1996

*That was taken a week before I met Osama Bin Laden.

...and then the publicist/publisher Air-Brushes my book photos and I can't look THAT POLISHED in person, although...my much photographed breasts are STILL totally divine and 100% all natural, knock on wood. I've had a VERY hard life and I think it shows in my face, although some people still think I look good.

I'm born in the month of March (for females--the Month of the Crocodile). I am either born in 1969 (according to my Oromo aunt) or in 1972 (according to GOv. of Sudan birth records, which are ALWAYS inaccurate--they often wait 3 to 4 years to issue birth certificates for BLACK children), so my Aunt could be right. Both my Aunt and Gov. of SUdan say I was born March 3rd.

I'm lucky, because neither Francis Bok and Mende Nazer have any idea what day, month or year they were born. It's an AFRICAN thing, because we go by "lotus season", "crocodile season", "shamara of Isis", etc.

____________________

Hi Obie,

NO--the tour has been cancelled for now, because DOOR OF KUSH is spending so much on the production of the DVD (they hired a professional company) and they're also publishing a new novel by Diane Dorce called "DEVIL IN THE MIST". So my April tour dates will be moved back to coincide with the release of "Diary of a Lost Girl".

______________

THANK YOU ALL for the HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

GranGran and Baba, I love you so much and that was nice to get your note.

well, it's only normal that you look a bit older now than when you were Miss Afro-Morocco, it's been 9 years!

I myself look older than my age, also because of a difficult life. But I believe I won't care about my physical looks anymore when I'll get over my problems.

I quickly took a look at www.astro.com and inserted your birthdata (year 1969, hour:12 o' clock because we don't have the exact hour)

Eventhough not everything can be correct, because not all the birthdata is exact, there is already a lot that matches your personality:

"To achieve success, you should stress your literary and scientific studies, give free hand to your brilliant intellect in warranted circumstances, and apply your diligent nature to writing, traveling, communications, and human analysis. In all these activities you are at your best."

OH....MY....GOD, Ashera!!!!!

What a fabulous and incredible FEEDBACK from that Birthday site.

It certainly sounds like who I "THINK" I am.

Lol

Thank you so much. That's the best birthday gift.

LOL

My sons had their father buy me a cake and they're all trying to pretend that "THEY" made it.

cage

Yeah right.

I'm a professional cook and they expect me to believe they made a cake that even I would struggle to get right.

It's just TOOOOOO funny.

(*Ofcourse this ain't the cake--but it's that complicated and gorgeous)

AND JUST THINK....I can't even have a piece.

ASHERA:

I was born at 2-something in the afternoon according to the Gov. of Sudan.

So 12 noon is close enough to have gotten the right DATA results.

LOL

Cynique, I know you don't want to hear this....but tears came to my eyes when I saw that you had wished me a happy birthday and that means so much to me.

I adore you so much.

Regardless of appearances.

----AND

you've had me on the floor all day with your DEAD-ON witticisms about Chris Hayden and his Oscar Predictions.

It's just that out of loyalty to Chris, I didn't want to say anything. But you've had me splitting SIDES on that thread. LOL

You're one helluva diva your damned self Cynique.

Princess,

Don't worry, you're still 19, happy belated birthday. Just got back in town, sorry that you cancelled DC in April, but you should have gotten a clue about Egypt, if your Egyptian family didn't want you when you were little and orphaned, what makes you think they weren't or wouldn't set you up now?

Send me a holla,

whoops, Kola!
when I insert your birth data with 14 P.M, a few aspects already change (for example your ascendant from where I got that first text about your personality) but since it matched you so well, who knows you were born at 12 o'clock?

but whatever your birth hour, this should remain the same(if you are born in 1969):

"Sun in Pisces, Moon in Virgo

Your astrological positions combine keen intuition and good critical faculties, which give you a healthy balance of mind. You are a capable individual, receptive to educational and cultural influences. You are at home with everything that is unsubstantial, intangible, and vague, and yet you find ways to make these things practical. You can successfully combine insight with concrete fact. The affectionate and emotional sides of your individuality, however, are readily called forth. Because of your pliancy, compassion, and understanding, your own affairs rarely have priority over the affairs of others. In love you seek a reciprocal understanding and sympathy. The key to a harmonious existence lies in maintaining an equilibrium of intuition and common sense."

I just checked out using the same birthdata (14 o'clock) but with birthyear 1972:

"Sun in Pisces, Moon in Libra

This astrological combination indicates heightened inspirational and spiritual tendencies. Your mind and feelings are refined, and you seem to be a mild, benevolent individual. Because of your acute perceptions and reliable judgment, you have a capacity for assessing situations in their true light. Among friends and associates you are able to make your sensitive, intangible traits more substantial. Your fluidity of character takes on definite form in society, and perhaps for this reason you shun solitude. You will, therefore, seek marriage, partnerships, and associations. Your most conscious aim throughout life is always to find and express sympathy and human understanding. You dream of universal communion inspired by a poetical nature. The artistic sensibility - a receptivity to all things in the cosmos - is deep within your nature. The key to a more harmonious existence lies in becoming more determined and concentrating your efforts more closely. "

This is just one aspect of a whole chart, there are always contradictory aspects, so it's the whole picture that actually counts.
You can always choose which you like the best:12 or 14 o'clock,1969 or 1972 ;-) and check it out yourself
