I decided to stop doing the soap, because people complained about it so bitterly--especially a high powered agent in N.Y. who feels that it's beneath me and that I should stop acting like a..."regular person"....and start acting like KOLA BOOF...mysterious Queen from Africa and STUCK UP "LITERARY" writer.

People take things just TOO SERIOUSLY.
Many people in the industry, Chris, hold it against me that I never went to University (or school, period)....and while no one can deny any longer that I can write literature (and write it VERY WELL).....they don't like my IMAGE.
The SOAP represented a "new low", I was informed.
Plus I'm a slut and all around bad role model for Black American women.

Hello Kola
I am sorry to see your soap wash down the drain but it's only fitting since I was the author of the first, Thumper's Corner "THE MOVIE". You didn't even contact me and ask my "opinion". But like most things in life, the cream floats to the top and the shit goes down the drain.
Why don't you tell it like it is, you simple didn't have the skills to crank out the script, it's more than most can imagine. Again, you can put a mask on or paint yourself blue but inside still remains the same. You have a talent but it's not writing for a soap. Your natural instincts (skills)prohibited you from achieving the plateau you've dreamed of but I assume it was rewarding, embarrasing and you learned a thing or two.
Next time do that which you do best (?????) and leave the scripts to us, those that pay our dues, literally.
Btw, the project was a total tasteless embarassment to the visitors of AALBC, it's regular posters and readers alike. The integrity of those that had anything to do with it, immediately comes into question. I am sure the resoning behind the despicable display can be rationalized however the stain remains.

Your soap was quite boring compared to Kola's, which I actually enjoyed and was starting to get hooked on.

It might help you flow through life if you stay in your lane. It's obvious you're borrowing voice from someone else and like anything that's not yours YOU can't stand on it! So spare all of us the pretentious drama and go find another name. We would hate to have Kola attached to your stupidity......it could make the woman look bad.
Just in case I am off base, which "episode" of my "MOVIE" did you "read"? Kola pulled hers, is that right......I didn't know that. Come to think of it, that was the smart thing to do. Heck, if I was standing in the rain butt naked, I would hope I had enough sense to get out of it. I understand your loyalty, that's to be admired. However let me pull your coat. It's always wise to pay attention to who's ass you're hanging on. Because if it's really love, that deep blinding power, you might close your eyes, bite down and wind up out in the cold. |

You seem to forget that I was a devoted fan of "THE MOVIE" and I was disappointed when you stopped posting it. That was the reason I started one--because I missed yours and you never came back.
I'm sorry you don't like me (join the club), but I just don't feel like fighting.

Oh NOOOOOOOOOO, say it ain't so, The Queen Kola threw up her hands........I am sadden, what's the world coming to.......dang, you sure know how to piss-off someone.......even when you're not trying  .
Good Luck in your future endeavors.
I think I liked the old Kola much better. This new and improved sensible Kola is taking me back.
But for real though, many have no idea how hard that is (writing a daily). I have to admit that you had me laughing on a few things but when I saw the naked couple with the fuzzy patch I knew you had lost out. I felt as if even those that didn't want to like the soap would, IF it was written in good taste. You crossed the line toooooooo often. I also believe many were disappointed to see "their" image of the regulars so abruised. That greesy looking maid was a turn-off. Mr. Carey looked like a warthog and Cynique couldn't have been farther off line. Those were just a few examples but your research was lacking.
Good try and nothing lost. Next time try calling me and WE might come up with something. Try to refrain from playing with the BIG DOGs until you've paid your dues. I am not mad at you but you have to admit that you would have highly pissed-off if someone covered Long Train without checking with you?
