WITH ALL THE EDUCATION AND DEGREES ONE'S HEARTY SOUL CAN ACHIEVE, IT DOESN'T PROTECT YOU FROM THE DECLINE IN THE ECONOMY. POVERTY IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER FOR SOME (HINT STUDENT LOANS PAYMENTS) AS THE ECONOMY STRUGGLES, SO DO THE BLACK COLLEGES. IT TIME FOR CHANGE. IT IS TIME TO TEACH OUR FUTURE ENTREPRENEURS SKILL BASED ENHANCEMENTS. IN ORDER TO SURVIVE THE EVER DEPRESSING DECLINING ENROLLMENT OF BLACK COLLEGES. THESE COLLEGES SHOULD DESIGN AND CREATE CONTINUING EDUCATION SKILL BASED PROGRAMS. WHY NOT TEACH AND OFFER STUDENTS WHO MAY USE THESE SKILLS AS A SURVIVAL TECHNIQUE. STUDENTS CAN ENROLL AS THEY WOULD LIKE. EXAMPLES ARE TO HAVE A DUAL STATUS AND WORK IN THE FIELD THROUGH CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES, THE STUDENT NOT QUITE INCLINED FOR COLLEGE CAN TAKE A CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES AND DEVELOP A SKILL TO MAINTAIN A DECENT LIVING, OR THERE IS YOUR INDECISIVE STUDENT WHO MAY WANT A TASTE OF THE OF THEIR FUTURE CAREER BY ENROLLING INTO THESE CLASSES TO SEE IF THIS WOULD WORK. IN A WAY YOUR ARE HOLDING ON TO THE POTENTIAL DROPOUT. WHEN I SPEAK OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES, I AM SPEAKING ABOUT (AS MANY OTHER NON-ETHNIC COLLEGES HAVE BEEN DOING FOR YEARS) REAL ESTATE CONTINUING ED., JEWELRY DESIGNING, TRAVEL AGENT, ANIMATION, THE LIST CAN GO ON. IN MY OPINION IT IS NOT TRIVIALIZING THE CREDIABILITY OF THE LONG ESTABLISH INSTITUTIONS OF LEARNING. THESE SCHOOLS ARE PLANTED IN OUR HISTORY. BUT NOW IT IS TIME TO KEEP UP OR FALL. DIVERSE EDUCATOIN WILL NOT HURT. IT CAN ONLY HELP NOT MAKE BLACK LEARNING COLLEGES FOLD UNDER INTO ABLATION. |
