Among the items up for discussion on Capitol Hill when the legislators resume thier (first) session after the election today, is a bill that seeks to allow non american born citizens to run for the presidency. Looks like the republicans are already mapping out strategies to stay in office "four more years" after this election. And if AH-nold remains as popular then as he is today--he will win by a landslide! |

A_womon, Yeah. I saw that one too. Isn't there something blissfully ironic about the possibility of a son of a Nazi enforcer becoming President of the United States? I also heard the plan is for Cheney to resign and popular former NYC Mayor Rudy Guliani would replace him to be Bush's heir apparent. |

If they pass this amendment it will be the last stake in the heart of any idea that this system is anything but a corrupt ignorant joke. What has this man ever done in his life that would qualify him for higher office? America is sick writhing in the grips of some Hollywood induced fantasies. What will it take to heal her? |

ABM, Son of A Nazi Enforcer? I hadn't heard that one! I just thought that it was bad enough that the Republican party keeps pulling aging actors out of their hat to run for president and then getting foolish americans to vote for them just cause they liked them as "movie stars"! If they amend the constitution for Ah-nold to run, then can't nobody convince me that they can't also amend the constitution to cancel out AA right to vote! As it is they don't even count our ballots, so what is there to stop them????? |

Where it not for the fact that Reagan had traveled a similiar path the white house; I would have said "Get the fu-k otta here!" regarding the prospect of a Schwartzenegger presidency. Maybe 'ole mom was right about the end of time being nigh...

I don't know about this being the last days, but I do know that me and a lot of other people think that time somehow seems to be passing faster than it used to. It seems like it was just "yesterday" that we welcomed in the year 2000! Of course time is relative, and when we measure it by events, this could make time seem like it's passing faster because of the speed of the technology that now controls our lives. I also heard somebody else say that time actually is passing faster because it is running out. He compared time to water in a tub which was full but is now almost empty because the water in it is quickly swirling down the drain. As for politics, glad to see that Colin Powell got his hat. He knows when it's time to leave a ship of state that is approaching troubled waters. It would seem that American-born Rudy Guiliani is also gearing up to give The Terminator a run for his money. I can see Arnold being VP on the next Republican ticket. |

A_womon, Frightening...isn't it? http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/2003-08-24-arnold-father_x.htm "Records: Arnold's father was member of Nazi storm troops VIENNA, Austria (AP) - It's just a tiny typewritten line tucked away in an immense archive, but it sheds further light on the Nazi past of Arnold Schwarzenegger's father. The brief entry in one of millions of documents stored at the Austrian State Archives shows that Gustav Schwarzenegger, the late father of the film star now running for governor of California, was a volunteer member of the Sturmabteilung, or SA - the notorious Nazi storm troopers also known as brownshirts. ...The storm troopers, a paramilitary organization tied to the Nazi Party, played a crucial role in expanding Adolf Hitler's power. ...There's no doubt that Schwarzenegger's father was a convinced Nazi; Austrian records indicate he joined the party on March 1, 1938, two weeks before the country was annexed. A separate record obtained by the Wiesenthal Center indicates he sought membership before the annexation but was only accepted in 1941." Rashena, WOW! Back to the City of Lights, huh? Man! Your "aunt" (a.k.a. sugahdaddy) must REALLY love you! Chris, A lobotomy? |
