There is a rumor going around that lawyers for John Kerry are trying to compile the names of voters who may have been defrauded and instances of the fraud. Anyone know anything about it? |

Foks, Let it go, my people. Let it go. Because there are times when you get your tail kick. And when that happens, you got to pick yourself up, dust off and prep yourself to fight harder/smarter another day. Look. Kerry lost by 3.5 million votes! (THAT is a 'nut' too tuff for even Kola to crack...hehe!) Yes. We could futilely spend the entire next 4 year trying to prove that THAT many votes were fraudulently mishandled in Ohio and still get absolutely nowhere and, in the process, probably indirectly to elect Bush's GOP successor. But the more prudent thing to do now would be to try to correct/improve the system (starting with installing/enforcing ONE set of fair/open electoral standards for all future presidents and US Congress seats) so that what we are complaining about now is less likely to reoccur. |

Abm, There you go believing the HYPE a-gin! You have no way of knowing that the 3.5 million vote margin is accurate, yet you believe it just because the media puts it out there. I gave you an example of how the media AND the Bush camp, was inflating and deflating the votes as they saw fit on election night! Example: uncounted votes reported on ONN(ohio news network) 275,000+ Uncounted votes reported on national news-36,000! You of all people should know that you cant believe everything the media promotes. But I do agree that we should let it go. Because if the one who was running don't give a sh*t, what is the use of all this hoopla? He is content to let it go and (re)take his seat on the Senate so the election is over no matter what tactics were deployed to win it. I just don't happen to agree that Bush won "fair and square" cuz I saw (with my own eyes!) too many instances to the contrary! |

Abm: Tampering with the vote is a federal crime. I know of people who have gone to jail for fooling with ballot boxes in one precinct. If this is nothing, then let us stop bullshitting the kids telling them their vote means something. If these perpetrators can just wipe their butts with black people's ballots (for the second time) then let us stop all the crap about how people died for the vote for they died for nothing. I can understand it if you feel like it is "nothing". Fine. Remember that the next time somebody steals your car radio out of your car or breaks in your house--after all these things happen don't they? This is it, see? This is our Emmitt Till moment. This is our Rosa Parks moment. I have read people here excoriate black leaders for not doing anything. People wonder how blacks in the past could have put up with the ill treatment. It ain't easy is it? Scary ain't it? If you don't want to do anything about it, then stay out of the way of people who do. |

A_womon, I agree I am not capable of validating whether and/or by what degree Bush won. Do you? If so, please provide evidence of such. But here is partly why I think we should move on: We had very similar conversations four years ago about what happened in Florida. That STILL hasn't been resolved. And in the meantime, Bush was re-(s)elected. And the Florida thing involved only a few hundred or thousand votes. If we can't fully validate what happened there, how the HECK can we do such for when the estimated error/fraud concerned possibly MILLIONS of votes? Fok, There has ALWAYS been corruption in the US's electoral system. And the Dem's have been at least as culpable of such as the GOP. The beloved JFK might not have been elected in 1960 had Dem Mayor Daley (Sr.) of Chicago had not 'allowed' dead people to vote for his fellow Irishman. And at this point it is highly improbable that anyone will be able to provide any information that would approach a decent attempt to rescind Bush's reelection. I doubt that there is even precedence for such. But if you know otherwise, please do tell. No. I think we would be better off fortifying ourselves to fight Bush tooth/nail for every nutjob project he proposes. We should also focus on trying to stop Bush's rightwing wacko successor from gliding into the White House. And to accomplish that, we should IMMEDIATELY pursue the following: @ Applying a single fair/standard voting process that covers ALL of the States. @ Eliminate and harshly penalize the methods states can use to impeded people from voting (e.g., police harrassment, blockades, ID carding, etc.). @ Disallow highranking campaign officials from concurrently managing their respective state voting system (e.g., the chick who was FL's Secretary of State was also Bush FL campaign manager). @ Pick a Southern or Midwestern candidate. The last Eastcoast Democratic president was FDR. I think if we achieve the above to some material degree, we could GREATLY improve our chances of electing someone we prefer. Chris, I'm not getting in ANYBODY'S way, playah. Yawl go on and do your thang. But "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." --Albert Einstein |

ABM: I just have one question. Why do you always use the spelling "foks" for "folks?" Is it a subtle jab at us "foks" or is your "l" key conveniently stuck on that one word? LOL. |

Ladies, "Foks" is just a cozy/friendly form of colloquialism that I frequently use. My question to you would be why you would inquire about THAT particular word. Because within my prior post, I also included the following slang terms: "nutjob", "wacko", "yawl", "playah" and "thang". Why did you not include THEM within your query? <"engarde!"> |

I don't know about lawchic, but although I've heard of "nutjob", "wacko", "yawl", "playah" and "thang", I've never heard of "foks" being used in place of "folks". That's what inspired my curiosity. |

As quaint and cozy as "foks" might seem to you, my off-kilter sense of humor kept translating it as "fucks", as in "you dumb fucks"...LOL |

Lawchic, We ALL heard. ("Boy! Those attorneys can put'em down like nobody's business!") BTW: The bartender said your impromptu striptease performance was a HUGE hit. But you left your G-string in the salad bowl on the buffet cart. |

HA!! Your sources are flawed, ABM! They didn't have a salad bowl on the buffet. Only spaghetti and garlic bread. LOL. |
