Chris,
Yeah. I'd say Edwards slightly edged out Cheney (that's mostly because Cheney is the devil incarnate). But it was a pretty 'dry', non-revelatory affair.
One thing: Cheney looked so sallow, I thought he might keel over at ANY moment. If he and Bush are re-elected, I wouldn't be surprised to see him step (or fall) down during Junior's second term. |

What I wanna know is how can the Vice President of our country NOT know the HIV statistics amongst black people? Hmmm...maybe he doesn't care. Could that be it? He looked pretty pathetic when he was asked how he felt about African Americans being the largest population of new HIV cases. His response was, "I wasn't aware of that." WHAAAAAAT??!!!!! EVERYBODY's aware of that!

You know, I've been away for a minute, dealing with the death of my mom just five days before my birthday. Plus, dealing with the hurt caused by an up to no good man. Trust me, that's putting it lightly. I've been going through it, girl! |

Oh NO! I am soooooo sorry to hear about your mother. You know both my mother and my sister passed away around my birthday, though they passed a year apart!
Im glad to hear that your book is doing great! Girl, I will be starting novel number 4 really soon. I already have the title. Unfortunately, i got carried away and posted it on this board!Not too smart hunh? |

I've recently separated from my MAN of 8 years, so I can imagine how you feel--especially losing a GOOD man (the only one I ever loved), has totally weakened me right now. I try to act normal for the boys and try to joke--but I feel as though I wish I were dead.
I'm so lonely every minute.
Anyway....I'm glad you're back and I checked out your book, although I was so busy on tour, I only got to read the first few chapters.
Like ZANE, you're really in tune with the Pop Life of black women and that's SO refreshing for people like me who usually only read heavy duty literature. Don't ever let anybody tell you that the characters from ZANE novels don't exist, because that's been my life.
I liked what I read in your book and I see you so much bigger than you are right now. STICK TO IT and don't forget that I was one of the ones who predicted your upcoming DOMINANCE.
Kill 'em girl.

A_Womon,
2 years ago I posted the title of a book I was writing "LOVE IS THE DRUG"....and then 8 months later, ATRIA came out with a black woman's book by that title.
Of course, the book sucked and flopped.
SO I agree. Don't give your titles online.
I've since come up with an even better title for my manuscript. Which should be out in 2006 as "Virgins In the Beehive".
It's one helluva book, girl. My breakout book.
Somebody can snatch they title if they want---but the POWER of my book will put their's to shame.

Hands down, Edwards! Like Kerry, his ideas sound great, but I want to hear how these two plan on carrying these ideas out. They are making some very grand changes/promises! Time will tell.
It is completely shameful for Cheney to "claim" he didn't know the AIDS situation!
Early this morning, in my area, radio stations were going crazy discussing (with their listeners) this very topic!

Actually, I was more disappointed with Edward’s response to the HIV question than I was that of Cheney’s. I don’t expect much from the GOP here because he reps a party that for better part of 10 years (the entire Reagan Administration) pretended as though AIDS didn’t even exist. (In fact, it took Magic Johnson getting HIV before the matter warranted the attention of the Bush I Administration.) I, however, expect more of the Dems. And Edward’s response was woefully lacking.
Both Cheney and Edwards were WHOLLY unprepared for HIV issue as it pertained to Black American females. By witnessing their responses, you’d believe that AIDS was a non-issue here in the US.
I express my and my family’s deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. May GOD have mercy on the soul of your beloved mother and watch over her loving daughter.

Are you REALLY naïve enough to believe that Cheney knows (and/or cares) that Black American women are disprotionately suffering from HIV/AIDS? I genuinely think from Cheney’s lilly-whitten purview, the suffering of Black women is as remote as the subject of the demise of the dinosaur.
Hell! The only woman Cheney has to be even marginally concerned about is (the obsequious?) Condolessa Rice.
And frankly, I am ‘happy’ that Cheney admitted his ignorance because perhaps he’ll catch enough flak to feel compelled to do SOMETHING about the problem. I’d rather he do what he did rather than spew out some pre-prepared lie that would more easily permit his knowing/doing NOTHING. |

I don't trust stats-they are almost always skewed in one direction and slanted!!! Where did these numbers come from. They might be more propaganda than any damn thing else!! |

Although I have yet to read any of your work, I checked out your site months ago --nice! Sorry to hear about your mother! Having a parent die is very difficult, I know. Remain strong in your resolve concerning this young man you recently broke it off with. It is quite amazing to realize how our hopes and self-worth can be wrapped up in a man, but sometimes it is good to step back and have the opportunity to re-evaluate your goals and direction in life. I am by NO MEAN a Dick(head) Cheney fan. But, I think he HONESTLY has ZERO clue about what’s going on because he don’t give-a-damn and because no one he knows/cares about GIVE-A-DAMN. And I appreciate the honest, even though I don’t the sentiment behind it. Because he’s been in DC for about 40 years. He could have easily doctored up a lie that made it seem like he cared.
