Lambd,

Before I respond to your prior post listed within the "Closing the achievement gap" Topic (http://www.thumperscorner.com/discus/messages/179/1575.html?1094515959), I ask that you define and/or illustrate proof of your comments:

@ What do you mean by "claim my people and give them the benefit of the doubt"?
@ And how specifically have I 'fail' to do that?
@ Define "mockery" as it pertains to my wanting to "make a mockery of Blacks holding up Blacks"?
@ Define "uplift the race".
@ Define "pro-Black".
@ And how specifically have I tried to "kill the notion" of those?
@ Define how my comments "hang our people".
@ What am I trying to "give away"?
@ How do you define what (specifically in regards to Hip-Hop and Jazz) is and isn't "ours"?
@ What is the Black "identity" sans the influence of White people?
@ Define "ownership of our culture"?
@ And, assuming that such exists, how do you propose that we 'take' that?
@ How do I "throw in the towel"?

See. In my mind, you falsely/mistakenly define/interpret what I think/say. But, I could be in error. So, to avoid further misgivings and out of respect for you (and others who think as you do), I'll wait until I understand what you mean BEFORE I continue this discussion.

I realize that some of your terms might share the same or similar meaning. Where/when they do, for the purposes of brevity, please feel free to consolidate your responses.

Also. I know that we enjoy beating each other up A LOT around here (my oft-sarcastic tone probably in part explains your characterization of my views). But I think that this is indeed a most pressing and important issue we discuss (I'll tentatively define it as "Race vs. Reason".). And it is one that I sincerely want to earnestly engage you in. So for the sake of continuing this particular discussion, I will try to go "Vulcan" here and refrain from hurling at you emotional, snide, ad hominem commentary/criticism/conjecture. It might prove helpful if you attempt do the same.

After you have fulfilled my requests, I will respond.
