I was just listening to a Cab Calloway CD--"Minnie the Moocher" "Evenin'" "Zah Zuh Zah" "Harlem Hospitality" "The Scat Song"-- ah, brings back memories, don't it Carey and Cynique. Carey, Cynique and Chris, The Mighty Three C's--Sounds like an old doowop group. Hey, maybe we can hook up and pass ourselves off as Gladys Knight and the Pips on the Oldies Circuit--or maybe The Platters or the Four Tops! Whattaya say? |

Instead of the 'The Mighty Three C's", how about we shorten it to the "Mighty Off Keys"? Hahaahaa! How about the "Grecian Formulas"? or "The Geritol Three's"? or "The Mid-Life Cri-cee's"? LOL!!!!!!!! Just kidding y'all. I couldn't resist. Chris left the door wide open for that one. Anyway, I aint too far behind you. I'll be forty-one at the end of the month. Oh yeah. Before I forget. Everyone is invited to my house for the big party. It's BYOF** and BYOL**. Not to mention BYODJ** and BYOSO**. Oh and don't forget gifts...Except Cynique, I got a gift for you upstairs, Baybee! **Bring your own food, liquor, deejay, significant other. |

And a hi-de-hi-de-ho to you, too, Chris. Cab was a little too flamboyant for me, although I understand he had a great Chicago following in his day. I prefer Count Basie. He really "swang." You and me and Carey in a trio? That combination would produce more bikering than singin. I know it's a travesty, but my all time favorite singing group was one that a lot of the MoTown groups claimed as their inspiration. The Four Freshmen. They were all white, but they had the purest harmoney you ever want to hear; and, of course, their vernacular was jazz rather than R&B. |

And just what might this gift be that you have waiting for me upstairs, Lambd? An autographed copy of Kola's new book, "The Care and Feeding of the Male Animal." Dat's my girl! Wheeee. |

Lambd: Give us the address of the partay. Also, I know I have been carrying those other two for a long time (sigh) but what can you do? They're like Ringo with the Beatles or the other Jackson brothers with Michael or that guy who was with George Michael in Wham. But they give me real street credibility. If necessary we can disconnect their mikes and have them lip sync. |
