I have decided that I need to take a break for awhile, I don't know how long, but maybe I'll be back. I feel that I am not understood here and that people may have been offended at the way I present my views. I apologize if anyone was offended, but I don't apologize for believing what I believe. Come on A_women, what's up with that? I'm not trying to speak for everyone but I'm sure they would agree that you bring something ahhh......something different to the board.The problem you may be experiencing is probably your inability to deal with the opinions of others when they say you appear to be angry or you went to far or you need to chill, you take offense. Now obviously perception is the key. If you are perceived by most to be offensive or over the top, you jump off. If you believe we are being truthful with you, I think it's incumbent upon you to find out why and NOT tell us that we are picking on you because you are young or some other silly mess like that. We are your friends and would love to see you move off that pity pot of "yawl don't understand me" and " it's an age thing". We would love to see you move to a place of understanding by looking and listening for advice to find out why we've come to those conclusions. Because in reality our perceptions are real, they are the tools in which we will use in dealing/conversing with you. So if you say no and we say yes, maybe you should ask for examples of something you've said that could have been said in a different way and still get your point across without having to compromise your position. I know you place value on speaking your mind and not "punking out". And believe me, there are ways to say exactly what's on your mind without offending someone and still spank that ass at the same time. So, if you dislike being told that you seem to be angry when you're not and that you are being required to temper your opinion while others are free to roam like drunken sailors, show us, tell us, ask us. Be exact, ask exactly how you could have phrased the thoughts, sentences and/or paragraphs in question, without losing your flavor.
Okay pilgram, please consider my suggestion before you decide to leave............pleeeeease. I don't know if you've noticed but the ranks are becoming fewer. Yeah I know, but nevertheless you bring your own individuality to the joint and that's a good thang.

Seriously, I enjoy reading all of your posts. I am just like you. I don't give a $hi+ what any of them think for real. I just post what I wanna say.
Sometimes, before I send it, I'll look away from it for a minute and then proofread it. That way I can be a little more diplomatic if I need to be...sometimes I don't care. At any rate, don't roll. You supposed to be my dawg! I need a hard hitter up in here to help keep these folks in check. Sometimes when I roll too fast, they try to jump me and you are always there to hold me up so I can regroup. Don't you leave me all alone up in here, youngblood. I need you, now! Besides, I like that rough young perspective you bring to the table...Not only that, if I loose touch with you, how am I supposed to jump them young bones at the next book fair? Hahaha! I gots to stop hangin' with that slime-bucket Abm. I can't even get my sincerity rap goin' without shoutin' at the booty. |

A_woman--a lot of people have to take a rest sometimes and take stock. It is August and things slow down a bit.

Hey, a_womon. The best way you can prove that you are not impulsive and immature is to stay and make your point! This board is like a microcosm of life. It can be challenging but you can also learn things here, not necessarily academically but about the foibles of people. And it helps to retain your sense of humor because this site abounds with teasers and needlers. It can also be addictive, so it does help to take a break from time-to-time, but don't take a permanent absence. Your input is invaluable because you are one of the people that others can learn from. Don't desert us, girlfriend. A'ight? |

A_woman, who said anything about you being cute......, just kidding. But what you will also find in your absense is that your name will come up and things will be said about you and YOU will not be able to respond. That can however be a good thing. See, many times we jump off fueled by our emotions and if we would have stopped a thought about it we might have handled it in a different way. I think it was Cyn-Cyn that said this board can teach us a thing or two and I agree, we can learn how to handle what appears to be a serious situation by waiting and preparing our reply and then delivering it at the right time and in a precise manner.
Sorry if I crossed the line in my appeal for you to reconcider your move. But ultimately the decision is yours and I think in retrospect you've done the right thang. We've all had to back down and take a deep breath. It's your turn.

Well fellows, I guess you gotta call it like you see it, and I ain't mad at you. As I told Thump some years ago, keep on living, because if you keep on living and live long enough, you will run into "right", it will smack you right in the face, if your looking for it or not. Hello All
It's been a different kind of day. I woke up feeling a little down and then went for a drive in the country. I had written a friend of mine earlier today and had expected them to call. But as I said, I went for a ride and when I came back I noticed that they had called but I missed it........DANG, I said, what a day. I so much wanted to talk with them too. We've been sharing a little this and that and she makes me smile, she really does. Then I went downstairs to check my mail and I had to read "that". But as I said earlier, I wasn't going to let small things ruin my day. So, I went back upstairs and put on an old CD by Tamia, the one in which she sings a song with Lavert. There's a few songs on there that just tear me down but is a good tear down if you know what I mean. Anyway, there's always tomorrow.

I apologize for including you within my and Lambd's juvenile hijinks. I tell you, that Lambd dude reminds me of friends I had in college. That was a time when I was so 'weisenheimer' that I believed I was the funniest and smartest guy around. Well, at least life proved me to be 1/2 right.
