No folks I have not gone crazy. In the course of doing research for my novel, "Vampyre Blues: The Passion of Varnado" I discovered that there are people out there who claim that they are really Vampyres, such as sister Sanguinarius here http://www.Sanguinarius.org/ They don't claim to have mystical powers or to sleep in coffins but they state that they have a need to draw energy from people or animals or even things--either in the form of blood or life energy or other types of energy (there are some vamps who draw energy from thunderstorms) All of the Vampyres I have run across are white. According to the sites I have visited, Vampyres like to do what everyone else does. Are any of you black posters or lurkers at AALBC Vampyres? Would you like to talk about it? |

I am. I come alive at night and I experience very eerie emanations when I stare in the mirror too long. I also have a little werewolf in me because the moon has a very profound effect on me. I'm serious. |

Cynique says: "I come alive at night" ABM says: Yet still watch Oprah and Jerry Springer during the day. Cynique says: "I experience very eerie emanations when I stare in the mirror too long" ABM says: Still haven't quite got over the effects of your '70's flirtation with LSD, have you? Cynique says: "I also have a little werewolf in me..." ABM says: You know their are laws against that kind of behavior. Cynique says: "...because the moon has a very profound effect on me" ABM says: Baby, I don't think that's fly with the animal cruelty people. Cynique says: "I'm serious." ABM says: Oh, about THAT I have NO doubt. |

LOLOL@ "I'm sorry. I should have made myself clear. I meant BESIDES Cynique." You characters.. "They don't claim to have mystical powers or to sleep in coffins but they state that they have a need to draw energy from people or animals or even things--either in the form of blood or life energy or other types of energy (there are some vamps who draw energy from thunderstorms)" You know that means a wholeee lot of people, right? I am not really talking about the blood stuff, but I am talking about sucking from the lifeforce. Many people are vampires and do not even know it. If you are really intune with energy, you can feel when one comes around (and honestly, 'most' people are). They are, if you do not monitor your own energy, very draining and usually very negative, not necessarily "malevolent", but negative nonetheless. These vampires lurk all around and sometimes they are even those we really love/care about. Keep your aura strong/clear, because as I've said, they are all around. Most just need healing, but still you must often help from a distance. |

Watastar, How profoundly true you be indeed. And since the truest art is initiated from one’s inner energies, creators such as yourself must be especially vigilant about avoiding those who would, via chance or choice, siphon away your lifeforce. Chris, I think you can include many media critics (be they books, TV/cinema, etc.) within the catagory of the creative "undead". |

Yes. It's gettin kind of dead around here. So act up, Abm. Just act up all over the place. Um, BTW, after flying away to my castle, "he-whose-name-I-cannot-speak" drove a stake into me. It vasn't a wooden one and it vasn't my heart that it pierced but - I died and vent to heaven anyway. Now, with the darkness of night I am resurrected, and I avait - the Return of the King! In the meantime - you may proceed to act up. |

Cynique/A_womon, Of course you know I want to act-up. But it seems that when I do, things spin out of control, Thumper gets all riled up, foks get exiled, etc. So (alas) I shall abstain. PS: Cynique, I don't think Viggo could withstand all of that sexual fire you've got bottled up inside. Sounds like you need to go out to a local bar, pick yourself a big, young, strapping Black stud, gather a 12-pack of industrial strength Trojans and let dude thoroughly @#$% your brains out. |

All: Although you might just think you just started this sexy talk at random you are under the spell of the Vampyre--which has it's basis in the fears of the sexual predator (coming at night), incubus and succubus dreams, the similarity of the taking of blood to the sex act or even rape, and fears of blood contamination through transmission of sexual disease. Come to me, my Children of the Night |

Although I'm no vampire, this topic is fascinating! I am in complete agreement with what Watastar said about "energy" and "lifeforce". I am extremely sensitive to peoples energy/aura. My intuition is, for the most part, keen and accurate! There are certain people I won't even be around because they are complete leeches. They tend to be very needy spiritually. I have to admit, I'm effected by the moon, by not in a negative way. The moon cycles are great for planting and harvesting, both in the physical and spiritual sense. |

Moonsigns, in spite of the fact that I make light of the subject, I concur with yours and watastar's observations about the vampire persona. And, when I spoke of the moon affecting me, I was serious. My face is like the moon. During the course of a month it goes through cycles that change my appearance. I'm sure this can be attributed to the gravitation pull of the moon and is why starting with the dark of the moon, when I have what could almost be described as a baby face, as the moon goes through its phases, so does my face, so much so that by the time the full moon glows, I look much older. BTW, if we look skyward tonight, we will see a rare "blue" moon, a phenomenon that occurs when there are 2 full moons in one month. |

Cynique I totally relate! The influence(s) of the moon is/are powerful! I go as far as using natural skin/beauty care products that use (mostly organic) herbal, floral and plant extracts that are planted/harvested according to moon cycles. Many women tend to give birth on a full moon (gravitation pull). Also, women's menstrual cycles are often dictated by the moon as well. Generally, ovulation or menstruation commence on the full moon. I was feeling quite different yesterday, not in a bad way --powerful and sensual. Sure enough, last night was a full moon! Thanks for the heads up, literally. I will be on the watch for the rare, blue moon

Chris, "Mephistopheles is not your name. I know what you're thinking just the same." (--Sting) Cynique, Sorry for that rather tactless outburst. For some reason I was compelled to let fly a random thought I had about you. Your fantasy is certainly safer, more romantic than what I recommend. Moonsigns says: "I'm no vampire" ABM says: Okay, but are you a Virgo? Moonsigns says: "I am extremely sensitive to peoples energy/aura." ABM says: Yeah. But what about their body odor? Moonsigns says: "My intuition is, for the most part, keen and accurate!" ABM says: Hmmm? Well tell me what I'm thinking RIGHT NOW. |
