Hey liberti,

Do you have any figures on how much those contracts were worth in dollars and cents?

I mean after "Bling"'s author got paid over a million for movie/book deal, Im just curious as to how many benjamins a new author could stack.

Speaking of movie deals: do you think the Bling author sold all of her rights to get that much money? I heard that was only a no- no if you weren't getting paid big bucks.

Liberti,
Is it true that "Bling" does a not-so-subtle slamjob on supermodel(diva) Naomi Campbell? If so, whatchu think Campbell will do (legend has it she's a scrapper)?

Would "Bling" have got all the PR hubbub (I mean, come on...a passable NYT's book review for THIS?) were its writer not buddy-buddy with the great hip-hop impresario Mr/Mrs. Russell Simmons?

Aside from bitching about it, ain't nothin Naomi Campbell can do, Abm, because as Chrishayden noted, "Bling" is an example of the "Roman A Clef" genre of fiction. If Campbell or any other celeb recognizes thinly-disguised characters in the story as themselves, then they're admitting that they've been accurately portrayed.
