It was fairly interesting but I remember being a little disappointed. Living here in Chicago I did not think she did a good job of delineating place or time. It's been awhile since I read the book but that was my general impression.

I think I also read this book a while back. Was it the one that told about life on either side of a wall that separated better class families from poorer ones?? As I recall, it was just OK. The author did take liberties with placing events in their proper time frame. BTW, Dawn now writes a bi-weekly human interest column for the Chicago Tribune.

I liked it. I really liked that little girl; the main character. And yes; Cynique it was the story of life on both sides of the gated community that separated the haves and have-nots.
Now; her second novel was a bit hard to read. I was disappointed. Didn't like it at all.

Maybe newspaper work is her forte.

Hey all,

Yes, I read this book - and I really enjoyed it - I believe this was Trice's first work? Nevertheless, it really communicated a human interest story about the effect and impact childhood relationships and experiences can have on our total being for life.
