Dear Thumper & Thumper's Corner Discussion Board Members & Friends, I hope you don't mind me sharing some happy news on this list. My second anthology, DARK MATTER: READING THE BONES from Warner Aspect was just released this week in bookstores everywhere! We had our first reading at B&N in NYC on Monday, and it was great. It was standing room only with 7 contributors reading from their work. Please join us in Harlem on Tuesday, January 20 at 6 pm for a hot cup of chai and some great storytelling @ Hue-Man Bookstore & Café. Hue-Man is in the Magic Johnson theater complex, at 2319 Frederick Douglass Blvd. (btw 124th and 125th at 8th Ave.). 9 DARK MATTER contributors will read from their stories. They are: ihsan bracy, reading from "ibo landing" Kevin Brockenbrough, reading from "Cause Harlem Needs Heroes" Carol Cooper, reading from her essay, "Celebrating the Alien: The Politics of Race and Species in the Juveniles of Andre Norton" Andrea Hairston, reading from her novel, MINDSCAPE Tyehimba Jess, reading from "Voodoo Vincent and the Astrostoriograms" Jill Robinson, reading from "BLACKout" Kiini Ibura Salaam, reading from "Desire" Ibi Aanu Zoboi, reading from "Old Flesh Song" Warner Aspect is also hosting a contest, a book giveaway--free copies of the first two volumes in the series.
