Hello All, Overjoyed, overjoyed, overjoy. I recently got a copy of Speak, So You Can Speak Again: The Life of Zora Neale Hurston by Lucy Anne Hurston and the Estate of Zora Neale Hurston. This is no ordinary biography of our famous author. If you are a fan of Zora's and have read at least one of the biographies of her life, there will be a few surprises for you in this book. This book is very similar to another book, Lest We Forget by Velma Maia Thomas (another wonderful book)The beauty of Speak, So You Can Speak Again is the displays of memorabilia, never before published poems and especially a CD of Zora being interviewed and singing. Then there's a replica of a journal she kept, of her handwritten draft of the first chapter of Their Eyes Were Watching God and a chapter from Dust Tracks in the Road. I am in heaven, HEAVEN! I'm listening to the CD right now and it is easy to see how people were capitvated by her. I'm going to read a little, listen a lot to Miss Zora. I'll let you all know how it goes. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385493754/aalbccom-20 |
