Well Thumper, it looks like your boy has finally grown himself a pair. Pretty good.
What I liked – the story line[s]. The noir-ish feel. Some of the characters – love Rufus! Not nearly so much designer name dropping as he’s done in the past. And I love a good beat down.

What I didn’t like – more weak men, although I like that family thing Driver has going on. All the women are still super duper, drop-dead fine with long hair and tight eyes [insert eye-rolling face thingy here]. Still a little too much street descriptions but it kinda works in this one.

And once again I feel like I should be looking over my shoulder as I go about town because he describes so many places I frequent. This time he’s even at my beach. Scary.

Hello All,

I'm speechless!! Crystal, I read your post over and over and over again. If I had a string of pearls I would clutch them and do one of those southern belle faint!

I will admit that I like EJD books that have that noir-ish feel to them. I have to admit that I didn't think of the men as weak, but I see your point about that and the women. I loved Rufus too! Lisa was a bona fide trip, the hateful heifa!

Now I'm going to buy a lottery ticket. *big smile*

He has a play coming to Philly for his book Friends and Lovers. Has it been to anyone else's area?

And another thing – not that it would have mattered to that crazy woman, but how was it ol’ boy was not only NOT trying to give the money back, he wasn’t even thinking about it? I know she had other issues but still . . . that bothered me.

Hey Philly! Did you see the thread above about the play?
