Hello
I don't know what's going on with the spot but I couldn't post. So I'm here.
Reference "where are all the men"
You can save all the "po' oh me" there ain't any good men.
Please, maybe you just have not found yours. If he's a good man he shouldn't be available for long. Why would they be? It also take a good women to catch a good man. But think about it, if a man is worth keeping, why would he be just laying around waiting for Ms. Right. Many women are only looking for sex and beieve it or not (you probably already know) all men ain't down with the hit and run thing. All men are not male whores. It's strange how the world has somehow accepted the myth that men are comfortable with sticking anything, it's so untrue. We have pride and respect for ourselves too. |

I didn't here any rebuttals. Wait don't get me wrong, I penned a post about what all women are behind closed doors. Well the same can be said for a man. Closed the door and it's on. But a dog is a different thing. I think ABM hit on it, A dog will do it in the street and with anything. So I don't think all women are looking for that. Yeah, a little ruff neck but not a low down dog. But at least my guy Chris stood on his. And truth be told there's somw women that like it like that. I just ain't into spreading it aroiund. I hope they don't mind but another postee and myself have talked off line about this. They said that although they would love someone to hold and love and all the good things that go along with having a relationship, she said that for just a moment she would just like that itch to be scratched. Okay, I can get with that but it ain't my thang. I need to know I'm laying with you and only you. I don't want to cool the scratch, I want to sooth your soul and that can't be done in the down stroke....ya feel me. So, I still say that there are good men out there but they will not be there long. So, if one is chasing after you, you'd better let him catch you or he'll get tierd and turn and go find ms. thang.
I may be old fashion but I'm still here and I love being me. I don't have to peek in the mirror in fear that I will not like the person I've become because I let my little head rule.

It took me all day before I knew what you were talking about in your lead in. That's my signiture, I don't care how I spell a word as long as it sounds like what I am trying to say *smile*. So they're, put that in you're piece pipe and smoke it. Am going to leave all that puntuation stuff to all the struggling authors. Beside, most of the time I don't know any better. Am just an old country hick that pulled this PC out of the garbage one day while I was looking for bottles to sale. I do run into a few dogs, but I just growl at them and they leave me alone. Always bringing a sage opinion to the topics 'o the day -- I am writing this response while listening to Jesus Dropped the Charges -- the O'Neal Twins -- Gospel old school.
Yes, the media - black and white have twisted a great deal of images -- concerning men -- women, youth and all -- clearly, there have been black men courting black women since the beginning of time as well as black people producing loving families that have produced healthy minded black people.
Why are sisters having a hard time "finding" good men - thanks to oprah and sex in the city -- along with essence magazine and other vehicles - everyone is looking for a god or prince - when they themselves are neither holy/godly or royalty - -yeah we all want someone good to look at, touch and respect - but until those traits are evident in you all you will attract or find attractive is the very thing you are trying to escape -- find resolution for - or repair through others.
Does that make sense???

I don't mind a 'less attractive' man, but he can't be so unattractive that I only want to be seen with him when it's dark if i'm seen with him at all. We're all atrracted to good looks, but good personality can get you only so far. And the funny thing is, unattractive people act like they don't know it. Like thay got ugly on the way to your house...LOL |

I also think that men aren't as capable of dealing with a woman that just wants to hit and run. It messes with their ego or something. Like its okay for them to smut but when they get smutted its like pandamonium(LOL). I personally have no problem with bouncing through, bouncing on it, then bouncing out...but i do notice a lot of men feel tainted and their feelings are a little hurt...whats that about???? |

It always amuses me with sistah start in with the ubiquitous "Where are all the good men" diatribes.
Because every man is 1/2 woman. And every woman is 1/2 man.
So if there aren't enough good men it is primarily due to there not being enough good women. And if there aren't enough good women it is primarily due to there not being enough good men.
It is as simple as that.
And I think a lot of sistahs are struggling with this issue in large part because they are unwilling/incapable of accepting/reconciling those basic yet unassailable truths.
Most people, male and female, are vain, shallow and superficial and are too self-deluded to realize, reconcile and/or accept that.
Moreover, we all lie and want to be lied to.
Whether it is what we say, do and even dress, groom and make-up, we aggressively 'sell' and lustfully consume idealized personas of ourselves and each other then become roundly pissed with each other when the other don't appreciate our more human side or we are made to witness theirs.
Thus, we create and perpetuate these seemingly incurable scenarios whereby we sabotage our relationships often before we've even started them. |

@ How many women KNOWINGLY enter into relationships with inveterate cheaters?
@ How many women have intimate relations with men the KNOW are married or seriously committed?
@ How many women allow themselves to become impregnated by men who they KNOW have 5 children spread amongst 4 other women?
@ How many women eschew the dopey looking brothah with the +90 percentile SAT scores (who eventually earns a law degree and a six-figure salary) for the truant 'cute' thug who's functionally illiterate (and get's killed while sticking up a liquor store and leaves them with 4 malnourished kids)?
@ How many men take monies from a decent, hardworking brothah and give those monies to some no-count ruffneck?
@ How many women take gifts from guys they KNOW are dealing drugs? (And how many of them are secretly turn-on by that?)
@ How many women are engaged in sexual relations with men they KNOW are sexually ambivalent? (And how many of them are secretly turn-on by that?)
Until the sisters come clean with themselves, they won't be able to compel men to straighten up.

You're right and they don't want to hear that! Because I'm tellin' you, if they are a good women, they would not be alone very long. They'd be swooped up in a minute. They can take all that other nonsense to Bobo land. Check this out, I went out about a couple of months ago and lawd have mercy, them women are treacherous. Man, they was winkin and grinnin' all across there man. You would have thoought I was fresh meat hanging in a lions den. I ain't lying one bit. Of course I loved all the attention but can't nobody tell me anything about men being dawgs. Now later in the night I thought it was time for me to choose.......so I did . But wait a minute, I ain't talking about a one night thang. I asked a young lady if she would mind if I called her or if she didn't want me to have her number I would give her mine. Anyway, before the night was over we managed to slip numbers before I departed and before I could get to my ride the phone was lighten up *smile*. Okay let's move ahead about to months. She want to wash and press my clothe, cook meals of my choice AND clean my house. Wow, I don't know what to do. Yeah, one day I told her that I wqas taking my clothes to the cleaners and she said I didn't have to do that because she loves to iron clothes. Now come on man, loves to iron. You know what I did, I packed up them clothes and gave them to her *lol*. I'm not laughing at her, oh no, she's good to me but damn, whats a man to do. Now I'm in a position of ....what. I think I've gone to far by letting her do these things. She can cook too, yes in deed. But my family and friends keep telling me to take it slow, check out the field. I'm sayin' damn, what am I going to be looking for! Anyway, there are plenty of good women out there and there are sure plenty of female dawgs too. |

Sarge, take a look at Justwrite's picture on her website. On a scale of one to ten I give her about a twenty-seven. My tongue hit the ground when I saw that picture. Her face is really really pretty, but there is another picture showing of her uh...ASSets! Wow! Talk about basketball. She got some serious rump roast going on...Or maybe that's 100% ground round! Either way she is way too fine. I hope she is one of these women that's looking for a good man, cuz somebody ought to tell her that I'm VERY available! I aint all that good though. Listen kids, don't you for one minute think ol'Sarge is steppin' in untested waters, oh no. Did you read what I said. I said I moved ahead TWO months. So, after I got the doctors reports *smile*, the credit check and the gyneology review, I moved to the second week. Then I did a google and had her submit a breathe test (can't be hangin' with a chick with a funky mouth) and then I did my own "kiss" test (can't be hangin' with a chick that can't kiss). Then I called her boss posing as an employor in which she has submit a resume. THEN I invited her over. NOW, since I never kiss and tell, I'll just say she passed some other of my real improtant "test" and I'm happy to say, I'm filled up.
Okay fellows, thanks for the concern but this ain't Ol'Sarge's first rodeo .
Btw, hit me if you needs some tips on how to make a women feel like a women and love your dirty drawers.

Chris & Carey, there's a difference between giving an order and giving advice, just as there is a difference between acquiring knowledge and asking for advice. And when most people ask for advice, what they really want is for someone to tell them what they want to hear. And when most people volunteer advice, what they really give is criticism. (That's my spin on a subject which you both put your spin on.) |

Hey All,
I am just getting back to this conversation - I must admit that y'all some opinionated people - I suppose it is from all that reading - smile.
Is there an easy answer or solution for this dilemma -- Mmmmmmmmm, I believe there is -- everyone needs to spread out and take time to see what is it that they really want -- a good time, dedication, respect - etc -- once you decide what you want - pursue!!
Me, I have been chillin' in the cut reading the posts and checking out the popular press and believe me this is not a black issue - whitey is having their problems too - so maybe it is generational - us 30-somethings and 40-odds are struggling with issues - but all era have issues.
Let's keep on talking until we get a breakthrough and see the light - what ever color you might like - red, blue, purple or pink - - let me stop 'fore I get zane-ish

You make a point worth exploring: This male/female issue is NOT justah Black thang.
White foks are divorcing before their wedding cake gets stale.
They are having increasing instances of children being born/raised out of wedlock. And they all aren't just PWT. In fact, in some of the major industrialized European nations, children are being born to unwed mothers at nearing 50%.
And, like Blacks, there is a growing disparity between the numbers/percentages of White females and White males that are matriculating/graduating college.
As brute aggression is supplanted by sober intellect, perhaps the traditional role of a male is being trivialized, if not wholly discounted. And maybe the strife between men and women IS emblematic of that.
Heck. Maybe we are slowly 'evolving' into a dominant Amazonian world culture whereby only a few men will be allowed to live for breeding...and for putting out the garbage and inserting light bulbs in high places. |

Thanks for the confimation - in an issue of Christianity Today - the singles chat was being explored and one man noted that the Christian church is losing men to cults because the gospel is being effeminized and softening the position of true faith. God knows you heart its okay to mess up -- you fall just get up and keep trying in stead of telling people you do not have to fall and there is a margin of error but you should not seek to set up shop there.
The idea of an amazonian ideal - - is sci-fi - and would make a great movie - what about She Hate Me ------Mmmmmmmmmmmm maybe Spike is onto something - I would love to hear other opinions on your observation - But I can agree with you that men are under attack from everyone from jilted lovers to disgruntled daughters -- poor man(kind) -
But just to let you know - here is one sistah - holding out hope for a strong, conscious and proud black man willing to work for a lasting relationship together while having & raising some beautful black children - any takers - smile

I think it is some pretty slipshod logic to blame women for men joining cults. Because wouldn't it be easier for men instead to start sects of Christianity that assert a more traditionally male-centered focus? I think a lot of Christian Fundamentalist types decry women gaining more power/influence (largely because they themselves may be supplanted by women) and are offering some screwy rationalization to blame women for where the power/presence of males have waned.
What's going on between men and women is strange!
Because it still is quite obviously a "Man's World" ("...but it wouldn't be nothin'....NOTHIN'...without a woman or a girl"...Hehe!). Yet, there are more than a few trends that seriously suggest that THAT might not be the case 2 generations from now.
And I am not even arguing whether that's good or bad. Heck!. Maybe that is natural/necessary part of human evolution.
So maybe instead of waiting for a "strong, conscious and proud black man", maybe you should instead opt for an frail, clueless and subservient brothah so you can use him to start practicing ruling the world. Hehe! |

SS, you had me till you started using that profanity. I don't like that kind of language.
"Dutch"! YEEEECH! Way too clumsy when its time to pay. I just assume I'm paying most of the time, especially if the outing is my idea. If the outing is the woman's idea, I still offer to pay unless she has made it clear that she is paying in advance. I know plenty of women that do that, too. Women I know offer to pay all the time. I usually turn 'em down because I wasn't raised that way. But sometimes its just convenient for me to let 'em. I always end up leavin' em a little something later because I'm so conditioned by my Dad to be 'the man' that I feel guilty about letting a woman pay. |

You are hilarious - all ya all on this board are some engaging people. Carey knows I have been holding a candle for him since I got into this thing - and you and Lambd are too cute for words - but I must admit - the two brothers dueling for the check - I think I done been swept off my feets -- tee hee.
In all seriousness -- I would love to chat offline -- with folks - but how do you do that - and go s-l-o-w because I aint no techno person.
Finally, Abm - I believe that you attract what you feel about yourself OR people gravitate to you for what you can provide for them. I believe that is the reason behind my streak 'o losers -- I suppose I should not call them losers - but they are needy and I do not see myself that way -but the strong black woman thing is still the #1 best seller -- for children of all ages - tee hee.
But I am working on that and in the '05 -- I'm doing a new thing -- let's see how that works - til them -- someone help me learn to chat off line - instructions/suggestions -- Anyone - later
