Just curious, with so many new books coming out in the urban literature genre, what kinds of advances are these first-time authors receiving? How much does the pay differ from an advance from an imprint at a larger publisher, if at all? Your thoughts, comments or experiences are appreciated! |

Alot of times it will depend on the author and if the person is already published their royalities look better than a new comer. If they haven't already published something but have a good track record through selfpublished status it can make all the difference. Sometimes its hard for an agent to make it happen thats why alot of agents will shop to many publishing houses to get the better deal. |
