Hello All, I've been busy as all get out. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel concerning my kitchen. I got my custom made table. And tomorrow, I'm going to put down my laminate kitch floor. I can't wait. But in the mean time I have been reading some wonderfully marvelous books. Here's a brief rundown: Dad Interrupted by Van Whitfield. Van Whitfield is back with my boy Shawn Wayne for Dad Interrupted. I liked it a lot. I have a few points of contention about the book, but these problems did not take away any of the enjoyment that I got from reading the book. I'm happy to see Van back. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385508182/aalbccom-20 Little Scarlet by Walter Mosley. I just finished this one this morning. I loved it. Loved-ed IT! Little Scarlet is a smooth creamy mystery that reminded me of the reasons why I fell in love with Mosley's Easy Rawlins series in the first place. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0316073032/aalbccom-20 Drive Me Crazy by Eric Jerome Dickey. Aah sh_t! I'm crazy about this book! Sorry Crystal, but you all know how I love Dickey. I couldn't have been more pleased when he wrote Thieves Paradise. I'm happier that he continued in the same vein with Drive Me Crazy. I was disappointed with The Other Woman. But Drive Me Crazy is freaking wonderful. I'm now ready to reclaim my seat as president of Dickey's fan club. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0525947906/aalbccom-20 Dark Dreams: A Collection of Horror and Suspense by Black Writers Edited by Brandon Massey. I just started reading Dark Dreams, so I can't give you a complete assessment of this anthology. So far, it is shaping up to be a damn good anthology. Right up my alley. First Dark Matters, now Dark Dreams, are broadening our horizons and hopeful inspiring people, who ordinarily would have never read these types of stories, to give this ficition a try. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the second half of the anthology is as wonderful as the first half. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0758207530/aalbccom-20
