Hello All,

I finished Nichelle Tramble's new novel The Last King! Ooooo, it's so gooood! I LOVED-ED IT! The Last King is another Maceo Redfield novel. If you all have read Tramble's first novel, The Dying Ground, then you all know about Maceo and his family. Maceo comes back to Oakland in order to take responsibility for his actions in The Dying Ground. He also came back to help his friend Holly, who is being sought after for a murder. The mystery/suspense portion of the novel is top drawer. The best parts of the book is Tramble showing Maceo's growth into true manhood, and Tramble's growth as an author. Now, you all know I was really interested in Maceo's confrontation with his grandfather, Daddy Al. I was wholly satisfied with it. I have not one complaint. The book is just plain excellent. I know I'm telling you all about the book before it's June 1, release date *sticking out my tongue at the ol' Grayhead*, but I promise you it will still be good by the time you get to it.

Thumper--

I've been waiting on this one. The Dying Ground was one of my favorites. I checked her website www.nichelletramble.com and she's updated it with an excerpt (sticking out tongue at your reading the whole thing) and it was great. She also has some pictures of places in Oakland that appear in the book. Check out the journal too.

I'll hit ya back after I read it.

Thumper, I hope to read both of these. I love a good mystery! I also want to read the new Glenville Lovell book too, it's waiting on me!!

Have you read that one?? If so, how is it compared to Too Beautiful to Die?

I loved 'The Dying Ground' a lot. I heard someone comes to a 'tragic end' in the book. All Ic an say is I hope it's not anyone in the Redfield family or Holly. I fell in love with those characters in the book. If one of them dies I'll probably cry.
