The other night on a local radio station they read excerpts from this book. I realized I have never read it all the way through--attracted to it at first by its racy reputation I was put off by all the stodgy, high falutin writing--

But it still strikes me that this is a scuzzy story any way you slice it with little to redeem it--at least stuff like "Naked Lunch" and "Tropic of Cancer" unloaded on society as a whole.

Hello Chris,

I am in total disagreement with you. I loved the writing. As a matter of fact it was the writing that kept me reading the book when I was totally turned off by the subject matter. That's what made the book so extraordinary.
