Hello All, This has been one helluva sad ass holiday weekend. To start Luther and Renaldo "Obie" Benson of the Four Tops dies on Friday. the Four Tops is my all time favorite vocal group! So, although I know that my main musical hereos are dead or dying, its still sad to hear about their passing. But I'm still here. I got Aretha playing on the stereo through my new iPod, Sasha is at my feet sleep, and I'm still reading. I don't know if I've mentioned that I read Charlotte Carter's new novel Trip Wire. Excellent mystery, strongly recommend it. I read Love Mosaics' Indigo Blue by Tatu. You all know that I'm pretty much fed up with romance novels but I have to give much props to Tatu for writing a fine, highly enjoyable book. If you haven't heard of Tatu, check them out. Tatu is composed of three authors. How the writing duties are split, I do not know. I do know that I loved the book and strongly recommend it. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0976451506/aalbccom-20 I just finished Nate by P. Lewis. Nate is a mixed bag of all the things I love to have in a novel and a few things that I can't stand, but more on Nate later. Up next: the new novel by David Anthony Durham titled The Pride of Carthage. You all know that I love him. This time out, Durham tackles Hannibal. First Lion's Brood, and now The Pride of Carthage. Do you all think that Hannibal is calling for some of our attention. But before I tackle Hannibal again, I'm going to check out...you all know he's one of my favorite...and Crystal just luuuvvsss him to death, Eric Jerome Dickey. I haven't heard any positive feedback on his latest novel. So you know I'm going to check it out next. As I mentioned earlier, I have an iPod mini. I love the damn thing. First off, it gets loud enough for me to enjoy it, especially when I'm cutting the grass. Second, I have put just about every Aretha Franklin song that I love into it, which comes to about 268 songs, over 1 day and 4 hours of pure music. So, I'm feeling more than satisfied. Oh, I haven't shown you all a picture of my baby Sasha have I? Well here she is, up close and personal What a mug! *LOL* Not only is that snout big, you all aint seen her paws. She is going to be a big dog. I can't do nothin with the green eye. Isn't that strange? If it is a human eye with red eye, it can be fixed, but not a dog's. This was Sasha out in the front yard. She's bigger now. Right now, we're going through Housebreaking thing. *exhaling* It's rough, a real and natural bitch! Going on the third week, I do believe that its finally sinking in. *crossing my fingers* Now, I see why I didn't have kids. My nerves couldn't take it. *smile* Well, anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday! *big smile* |

Sorry you're having a "ruff" time housebreaking Sasha. (I still think you should've given her a German name.) |

Thumper, I just left another forum with more recent, I suppose, pics of your shepherd. It took me two weeks to housebreak my Velly simply by putting a biscuit in my pocket and giving it to her after she pooped, then patting her and telling her she's a good girl. When I wasn't home to take her out, she'd go to the bottom of the stairs to poop. (She was too cute learning to go up and down the stairs.) The teething thing is what killed me. One day she got out of my little set-up to keep her safe when I went to work. She ate through the wires to every household gadget imagineable. She also ate ravaged the carpet in the living room. Then when we moved from that apartment, she scratched and ate through the walls while I was asleep one night in our brand new house. I replaced the sheet rock with brown panels in her room, the color of which I think mellowed her out. I hope you get Sasha lots of chew toys. Do her eyes light up amber in the night when something catches her attention? Also, does she sigh and/or moan like a child when she's "bored" or wants attention?
