I'm currently reading "Blood on the Leaves" by Jeff Stinson -- GREAT READ! I've also just finished reading a galley of GROOVE by newcomer Geneva Holliday - very entertaining! The perfect beach read! |

Bimsha, I would love to discuss "Blood on the Leaves" with you when you are through. I'm about half way through it myself and having a great time with it. "The Bridge" by Soloman Jones and Valerie Wilson Wesley's "Playing my Mother's Blues" are headed with me to Myrtle Beach in three weeks. |

I'm currently reading for review "Snake Walkers" by J. Everett Prewitt. It's a novel somewhat similar to "Blood on the Leaves" (which was excellent) about a black reporter in the early sixties in Arkansas who is assigned to investigate the disapperance of an entire town. The reporter had witnessed an atrocity at an early age and has to deal with that while he's investigating the disappearance. I reached the 100th page, and I'm still into it. The author's website is www.eprewitt.com/. Next up is "Fumbling Toward Divinity" by Craig Hickman, a nonfiction story that deals with adoption. |

I understand Eric Dickey has a new one coming out but I'm not looking forward to it. I believe he writes in a womans voice again and I just don't think he does that as well . . . I'm sure somebody will let us know. I'm thinking of going off these shores for my summer reading. There were a couple of good references for Indian books in a post above and I think I want to check Orham Pamuk too. Thanks for posting folks!
