I want to announce that in a couple of weeks, Breaking the Cycle will be released nationwide. It is an anthology I edited about domestic violence and the everlasting damage it can do to people in those relationships; children in particular. Contributing authors include: Tracy Price-Thompson, JL Woodson, DV Bernard, Nane Quartay, Shonda Cheekes, Dywane Birch and Collen Dixon. I have never been excited about the release of a book before but I am confident that this one will have a major impact on an issue that is often swept under the rug in our communities. It is a concept that came to me many years ago and I am glad to bring it to fruition. Many assume that all I do is write about sex, when nothing could be further from the case. Addicted is now being used by psychiatrists as a therapy tool for their clients. Afterburn has sparked many people to do things with their lives they once feared. One woman came up to me at a recent signing and said, "Thanks for writing a book that now makes me get up every single morning and tell my son that I love him!" That is why I write what I write. Not because I am trying to write the "hottest" sex book or have the "freakiest" character. That is not challenging at all. The challenge is to write an entertaining book and make someone walk away thinking and ready to make a change. All of that is to say that Breaking the Cycle will hopefully change come lives and make people who have stood by and witnessed someone they know or love being abused to take immediate action. The book includes a resource section in the back for domestic abuse agencies in every single state and the Virgin Islands. Thanks in advance for your support of this effort. Peace, Zane |

Hi Zane, I just wanted to tell you that I saw your makeover in Essence magazine and you looked good girl! I loved the red wrap dress and your hair looked really healthy and the bangs softened your features! Well done!

A_womon, Thanks for the compliments on Essence. I felt kind of old in the photo because most people who come to my signings now say I look much younger than I did in the photo.I have actually changed quite a bit since past photos taken of me. It was an interesting experience and no regrets. Peace, Zane |

I assume it's fiction, but not sure. I'd definitely be interested in getting a copy. The effects of Domestic Abuse is a huge problem, that effects more households than most people are aware. |
