"McKinney-Whetstone"? She sounds like a brand of sparkling water. All she needs is a monocle. |

Hey all, I cannot believe she won for that book - Diane has written other things that should have one - if they did not -- I will have to check. Has anyone read that work -- it STUNK -- I have read every thing else she has written and Tumbling was the best and they all went down hill after that - Tempest Rising, Blues Dance and finally Leaving Cecil Street. I could not get past the language - lots of swearing -- by page 65-ish? I put it down Incredible - I would have thought that Angel of Harlem by Kuwana Haulsey - that book is like that - oh my -- let me calm down -- Huhhhhhhhhhh. Peace |

I loved Tumbling as well, but havent been interested in her other works. I've heard from various people that they love her style of story telling. So maybe that's what worked for her with this one... |
