I'm new here and not sure exactly how this works...But, I was wondering is anyone is participating in the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English's "African American Read-In" on the 6th? It's short notice, and maybe folks are already participating. If not, maybe we can sponsor some on-line groups. I'd love to host a group...maybe we can get a whole network of people.

Mostly, yes I think--and unfortunately so. I have two new kindergartners so am being exposed to all this teacher/school related stuff for the first time. I was surprised, however, to see a brief blurb about this on the calendar in Black Issues Book Review's Jan/Feb 2005 issue. |
