Greetings all!! Every year during this time, RAWSISTAZ tries to put together some type of book donations program. This year, we're going to be sending books to the Middle East to a young lady and her company (U.S. Army) who have emailed me requesting our support. She is stationed in Baghdad, Iraq. They have been there for 7 months and will be there possibly through April 2004.
She says: It has been hard and tough for us, but we find little things to get through it. REading is one of them. A lot of us(mostly females), pass out books around so that we all have something to read, but our stock is slowly depleting and we are reading things over now. I don't know too much about raw sistaz, but I was wondering if you could possibly donate some books for us to read over here.
Being prior military and VERY grateful that I was able to get out when I did, my heart goes out to these women (and men), so this is the project I'd like to take on. I have begun mailing books to them and will continue to mail one box per week until she returns back to the U.S (or bi-weekly) depending on contributions.
If you would like to participate, please mail your contributions to me at the address below. PLEASE BE SURE TO USE THIS EXACT ADDRESS so I can differentiate between books being sent for review and please include a note for them. If you are in one of the RAWSISTAZ Local Chapters (Atlanta, New York, North Carolina, Chi-Town, or Memphis), contact the Presidents and you can drop books off to them and they'll mail them on our behalf. A page on our site will be set up to track what's being sent and to share the responses from SPC Wilson.

Hey Tee
Now you know I have a special place for prior military. Having served in the U.S. Army myself, I will be happy to put some books in the mail to you tomorrow, along with a note for the girls. I applaud you for finding it in your heart to be of such help by securing a wee-bit of entertainment to those protecting us so far from home.

Not the Army Linda? ROFL. I'm Air Force, but will save the "noise-talking" this time around. I received your donation and will get another shipment off tomorrow. I've been quarantined to the house for the last few days, but hopefully will be able to get out tomorrow.
