Have you checked your local bookstores and libraries? Sometimes book clubs meet there.

The Carter G. Woodson Library at 95th and Halsted in Chicago has two book clubs: the Harsh bookclub (I don't know if membership is still open) and the Contemporary Reading Group (this club meets the 1st Saturday of every month). You can call the Woodson Library at 312-747-6900 for information on both of these clubs.
