Okay, you guys know that I don't post much. But in this case I think I better and let everyone know that Franklin White's latest novel Money For Good is FABULOUS! I purchased it Saturday night at a signing with he and Eric Jerome Dickey and I am sure glad that I did because I just finished and it is wonderful! It all starts off with a hard working, small time business owner of a auto repair shop, who is called for jury duty. The main characters name is West Owens and he reminds me a lot of Walter Mosley's Easy Rawlings character because this brother is not some corporate guru that Franklin has written about in previous novels. He is gritty, street, loving, caring and all about his money and his one of a kind caddy! West Owens is a three dimensional man that you love because he knows that he is flawed to no end. Another area that I give kudos for the novel. West meets a young lady down on her luck on jury duty and the next thing you know they are working together like Bonie & Clyde to get a defendent who is on the stand to share hundreds of thousands of dollars with them--that he is on trail for--for stealing in a drug bust. This novel catches you right from the begining and takes you all the way to the end. The dialogue is tight and snappy and the storyline has chapter after chapter of going on's. I really enjoyed this book!

Hello Sharon Nice to see you peek back in. Now that's the way to give a low down on a book. You didn't give away too much of the story, you gave us just enough. Come on out in the yard more often Carey |

This book is awesome! Can you say straight to the movies with this one. The character West is made exactly for the big screen. All of the chapters are exciting. It is amazing how a character could get in so much trouble in so many areas when they begin to do wrong. This book is a keeper! |

You're right. Franklin did a good job on this novel. I just finished it and just "maybe" we have the making of a black James Patterson. The book is that good. The character telling the story draws you in and keeps you in the story all the way through. I was surprised how every chapter moved-before I knew it I was in chapter 23 so I finished the entire book in just a matter of days. |
