Does anyone know of any Anthologies of African American Crime/Hardboiled/Noir Fiction? |

There was an anthology by Paula Woods several years ago entitled Spooks,Spies & Private Eyes; I believe that was the title & it should still be in print. It included stories from the 1890's thru the 1990's. |

Hey All,
I love this genre and would have suggested the same title by Paula Woods. Currently, I am working on a trilogy by Frankie Bailey, an African American professor and mystery writer. One of her earlier academic works:
Out of the Woodpile: Black Characters in Crime and Detective Fiction (Contributions to the Study of Popular Culture)
Looks like it might have some good nuggets it in -- Amazon has an excerpt of about 18 pages for preview -- check it out and tell me what you think.
