Ah-h-h Man! I was hoping for New Orleans. I'm so sorry I missed meeting you guys. I was registered for Saturday and then some family stuff came up and I only got there for a couple of hours. Got 2 bags full of books though. By the time the evening came I was way too tired for the reception. Pissed me off! I was planning on attending the next one but I'm not too keen on going to Chicago. We'll see. |

LOL Crystal...it's okay sis. Imagine walking up and down aisles for two days. Those two different sides of the Convention Center seemed to be miles apart. I don't think I've ever walked that much in my life. LOL. As far as Chicago, I'm making plans to be there... Now, as for New Orleans. If you're just set on coming, you're welcome to join us for The RAWSISTAZ Affair 2004 which will be held in New Orleans. <grin> More info to come. Let me get through this year's event first though. -Tee |

Tee, I saw you walking back and forth at the LA Convention Center lugging books and stuff. LOL. Was it worth it? |

Hey Tee, Chicago bills itself as the convention center of the world. McCormick Place serves no other function but to host conventioneers, and it is tailor-made for that purpose. Downtown Chicago is also a beautiful, friendly place bustling with vitality and points of interest and is easy to get around in. This city boasts some of the best and beautiful hotels in the country, and did I forget to mention the Sears Tower or Chi-town's world-renowned examples of classic architecture? Of course, maybe I'm a little prejudiced. I sound like I work for Chicago's Chamber of Commerce, huh? Anyway, with the action being so close to me, I might bestir myself enough to attend next year's BEA gathering. |

Right on, Chris. Jazz clubs, too. Also, a couple of decent soul food joints on the South side. |

NeeCee, it's always good seeing you and ummm, yep it was worth it. I was a little annoyed by how much I spent shipping books back, but when I think about what I'd spend buying them all; it makes it worthwhile. My girlfriend was very selective in what she picked up, so she only had one box shipped. And, I didn't limit what I got to AA Authors. I picked up quite a few others; especially ones I knew hubby would like. Now, my only question is...where the hell is my stuff? It was supposed to be here Wednesday. I'm sure they are swamped, but for as much as they charged us (UPS), I really may have to raise a funk that my boxes aren't here. But, they didn't even give tracking numbers; just a receipt. :::getting worried:::: Delta even made me pay because my bags were too heavy. Hmph. <grin> Cynique/Chris, thanks for the info on Chicago. Y'all definitely need to tell the Chamber of Commerce to pay up. I've only flown through Chicago so my sigh-seeing was limited to the airport, but I look forward to it. Please tell me it's not COLD during that time of year. I was really surprised to see that CA wasn't hot as hell. Anywho, this might be a good vacation spot for next year--bring the hubby. He loves jazz, good food, and golf. :-) I'm already looking forward to it. -Tee |

Tee, Guess what? The UPS boxes were first sent to that company's warehouse. That explains the long delays. So our stuff should be on its way. And their system does not have tracking numbers. (I guess the people in LA forgot that minor detail). I WANT MY BOOKS!!!!!!!! |

ROFL... NeeCee, my girlfriend hasn't gotten hers yet either. And I guess it makes sense that they went to the warehouse first, but they could've told us that vs saying 2-3 days. Next year, I'm finding a POST OFFICE! -Tee |

I'm gonna buy one of those maps of Chicago or tourist books or something. Only been there a couple of times and I just didn't like it -- that was eons ago. Maybe it'll be fun and exciting, though, for this event. Flat shoes, flat shoes all the way next year. Trying to look cute at BEA just doesn't cut it (well, at least trying to wear cute little heels).
