Hello All I'm just fishing around trying to get a feel for this new board. It appears to have some interesting new features that I think will come in handy. Thanks Troy. I know this is not an easy task, we appreciate your effort. |

Hello All, It's good to be back...missed y'all...really!!! So what will we talk about? I've just finised "Echos of a Distant Summer." Loved it! But, I must say I still favor "Standing at the Scratch Line". I liked Jax when he was bad, but he is no King! Elizabeth is kinda cool too! I can tell this story can go on, kind of like the GodFather". I like that. I also finished Michael Baisden's "Gods Gift to Woman"...okay, I was giving him another chance...the stalker thing was cool, not a new concept, but still told his way...I rate it as fair. The women were over the top an unreal. The story lacked depth! Now I'm just waiting for another good read....any suggestions? |

Hello Sisgal, If you haven't read After Hours yet, I highly recommend it. You're better than me, cause I will never read another Baidsen novel! I thought Men Cry In The Dark was bad, until I read The Maintenence Man! I didn't try to finish that one. I've sworn off of that one. There's plenty of other bad books that's dying for my attention. |

Did y'all hear about Baisden's stage play for the book. Men Cry in the Dark? |

I concer with Thumper on "After Hours", it is really hot and great writing to boot! I am about halfway through the stories. Had to smoke a cig after reading a few of them ;) |

Michael Baisden just got his own radio show here in NYC. I think it starts tomorrow night. He always seems like a guy who stumbled on a topic and is bent on milking it. Which is cool, I guess. Who's the author of After Hours? |

Ron, After Hours: A Collection of Erotic Writing by Black Men was edited by Robert Fleming but has a broad range of authors who contributed to the anthology. I included the book description below for you. Check it out! I read After Hours as well and I didn't think the collection as a whole was overly erotic, but I did enjoy the writing. What stood out the most for me was the fact that we all view erotica differently and I was able to take a look into the perspective given by the men in the book. It was quite an interesting read. There were only a handful of stories that I just did not like... -Tee ---- Book Description After Hours brings together an extraordinary collection of eighteen stories by today's best and brightest black writers-Colin Channer, (Waiting in Vain), John A. Williams (The Man Who Cried I Am) and National Book Award Winner Charles Johnson (Middle Passage), among others. From Mexico to the Hawaiian Islands, Jamaica to New Orleans, these erotically charged tales of love and lust explore the diversity and richness of African-American sexuality. Together, these powerfully seductive stories of desire make up a sensual collection that will appeal to anyone who loves provocative prose and black literature at its best. Tee - What about those of us who don't write erotica? What about people whose books have names like "Pipe Dream" and "The Bridge?" Can we get some love, too? Huh? Huh? I mean, I got a couple o' love scenes up in there. Doesn't that count for something? |

Ahahha Solomon, dang!!! Call a sista out huh? Now you KNOW I loved Pipe Dream and am trying to work The Bridge into my reading schedule. I was only giving information on After Hours because someone had asked. But guess what? I have a review that I think you'll love. :-) I'll hit you up off list. Hope the family is well! Joy is a handful, so I'm sure your little one is as well. -Tee |

Solomon, if you're not going to change your focus to erotica, I suggest you change your name to Mr. Zane so you can still capitalize on its popularity.

Solomon, keep the faith because there are brothas like me who yearn for soulfood as well as the erotica. |

Anyone read For Christina's Sake by Sylvia Willis Lett. It's an Action Adventure. Read it and loved it! I recommended it to some co-workers and now 3 of their bookclubs are reading it. I think you can get it on Amazon and B&N online. |
