Hey hey hey now...just trying to get a head count for all that will be attending BEA. A few folks have emailed me wanting to meet up or at least be sure to be on the look-out for others attending, so let us hear from you. I'll be in on Wednesday and staying through Sunday. I have everyone down that I recall saying they're coming, so if you aren't on the list, let us know. BEA Participants Tee Thumper Troy Linda akaivyleaf -Tee |

I'll be there. Thursday through Sunday. I got a free ticket through a friend, so I don't have any info about the AA publishing events. Tee, can you post here so I can add to my calendar. Bayou |

Hey Bayou and AKAIvyLeaf! Looking forward to meeting both of you at the end of this month at the BEA Conference! I will be arriving Tuesday(5/27) and departing on Sunday(6/1). Bayou, I floated a schedule on the Internet last week vs. various groups and it looks very similar to the schedule posted above. This schedule came from the official BEA conference brochure and is for the Thursday events only. There are also events on Saturday to include the AA Author Signings Salon and the BlackBoards Reception hosted by Faye Childs. I believe I just received some more information regarding these 2 events as well the Thursday event and will send it as soon as I get settled (just getting back from Florida). I'm staying at the Westin...where are you 2 staying? I can't wait to meet both of you! |

Well, I want to play with you guys too! I didn’t realize the BEA wasn’t open to the public. They told me it’s only for folks “in the business” so I didn’t register. I’m not even sure if I will be back in town by the 29th but I’m pretty sure I’ll be back by the 30th. Sure hope I get to meet some of you guys. Crystal |

Hey Crystal is Los Angeles home for you? And sis there's always a way to be "in the business"...because not everyone who attends is OFFICIALLY in the business so don't let that scare you away...the definition is very OPEN. Anyway, I would love to meet you and I believe they have a a one-day pass for Saturday if you're interested. At any rate lets try and meet. |

Crystal, come on down sis! They do have a one day pass, but you have to buy it before the 16th, so get to steppin'. Here's the link: http://www.bookexpoamerica.com/App/homepage.cfm?appname=288&moduleid=323 If it doesn't work, go to the main page and then click on register. I know lots of folks not "in the business" who are going. :-) Also, quite a few authors are attending as well. I'm not sure what area they put on their registration form...but check it out! I have a bookseller's license, so I used that one. -Tee |

Okay all...I'm seeing conflicting information, so I'm not sure which is correct. Yasmin, where did you get the above information about the Blackboard Reception? The information I have says that it's to be held at City Club on South Grand Avenue. Also...here's the roll call that I have. A few folks from various groups wanted me to organize things, but I think that this event Saturday night is the PERFECT place to meet up. It'll last for quite a few hours, so we can socialize there if that's okay with everyone?? Tee Thumper Troy Linda Sharon Bayou Lights Crystal Yasmine -Tee

Tee...the location has moved; it sounds like you have the new location. However, I have a call in to Faye Childs to confirm the exact location...sigh...I hope the current location at the City Club is correct. The Blackboard Reception sounds like a good event to meet up...Crystal come on out...you'll have fun. ;) Where is everyone staying? I'm at the Westin or the Grand Wilshire...I need to check my itineary. Actually, I might go ahead and buy a bed for my daughter's spare bedroom and just spend the week with her...I'm quite sure she would prefer I buy her a bedroom set vs. giving a hotel $200+ per nite...ouch! |

It's Faye Childs and its not Faith Childs the agent. They're 2 different people with two very distinct personalities. |

Did y'all see the author line-up? Whew... I checked the BEA website and they have over 650 authors attending. That's awesome. Not all are AA Authors of course, but they do have an impressive list. Check it out via the website. http://www.bookexpoamerica.com/App/homepage.cfm?appname=288&moduleid=587 Snake Girl...LOL... Faye Childs is the creator of the BlackBoard Times and the person that always heads up the Blackboard Reception at BEA. -Tee |
