A few weeks ago I had a chance to read ALONG THE WAY, a novel by a Thumper's Corner Postee. Has anyone else read it?
I enjoyed it. It had a positive Black Male for the main character, and featured a tight, functional black family's progress over generations--and had spice, humor and philosophy as part of the mix.
Readers here in St. Louis have enjoyed it immensely. |

Okay . . . Holidays are gone . . . Work is piling up . . . many new books are coming in for review. My vacation is over and it's almost time to post those reviews left to simmer before I went on hiatus. (Thanks Troy and Thumper for the brief rest *smile*) I don't want to spoil the mystery of Along the Way, just yet . . . but . . .I'll tell you the name of this author . . . Connie Divers Bradley . . . affectionally known to our family as . . . ? The reason I'm not posting this part is our author may not want it known yet. Once I get permission from the author . . . I'll tell. So ? email me if you want me to fill everyone in on the surprise before the review hits the board, which will be very soon. |

ROFL...dang, y'all sure know how to keep a sista in suspense, but I'll be patient for now. I've used all of my usual skills in locating a book and author, but came up empty handed...well, not quite, I did find a book called Out of Sight, but I think you said this was her debut book right? In any case, I've added this to my "to buy" list and look forward to more information.
