Hello All, While I'm here talking about Mosley's The Right Mistake, let me tell you all a little bit about this new novel, Before I Forget by Leonard Pitts, Jr. The novel is really off the HOOK! An excellent debut novel. The story is about Mo Johnson, a former 70's R&B superstar, who is not quite 50 years old and is diagnosed with an early onset of Alzheimer's disease. When he hears that his father, Jack, a man who Mo has not spoken to in over 30 years, is dying; Mo takes his son Trey, who is out on bail for a murder-robbery charge, on a cross country drive from Baltimore to LA to bond before his disease take over. I can not say enough good things about this book. While Pitts tells Mo, Jack and Trey's stories beautifully; there is a message on manhood, how to become one and maintain. if you are looking for a book, check this one out. It's due out later this month, March 20th I believe. |
