Hello All, I am finally back. My AT&T modem/router DIED! So I had no internet for almost a week. I had no idea that the internet had become such a necessary component of my life. I could not browse, could not pay my bills...I was becoming undone. Something strange happen, I started going through books like they were going out of style. I haven't had time to write nothing up, I just been tearing through them...even read a few of my BEA books. And that's saying something. Right now I'm reading a book that I got from one of my past BEA, Magic Time by Doug Marlette. Its a book that centers on a white columnist from Mississippi and how the reopening of a federal civil rights case from the 60s is affecting his small town and his father. Very good book. Anyway, I've just come to the conclusion that I love books about the South. The South is so...so...MESSY! I find it totally fascinating. Murder just don't say murder without a tear and a twang in it. While I'm in the mood, hit me with a few titles I can dig into. |

Jordan Thump, there is an excellent investigative work I read years ago written by an attorney about the Alday murders. Spooky!!! When I remember the title, I'll pass it along to you. |

Something strange happen, I started going through books like they were going out of style. I haven't had time to write nothing up, I just been tearing through them...even read a few of my BEA books (That's what my dear Ole Uncle George--of Centralia, Illinois, the home town of Senator Roland Burris)--used to call thanking God for Evil. (What is it about the South? You got to go back to the very beginning for that. Just suffice it to say it is the most ignorant, violent, racist part of the country and it is damn proud to be like that. And despite what all the wannabes say about St. Louis being the Midwest--it is The South. Missouri was a Slave State. Dred Scott was decided right here. |
