Hey y'all there are a few AALBC.com book projects, in various stages of development. The first book to be published is scheduled for release June 2009.
The book is a series of true stories about people (women mostly) who for one reason or another continue to have sex with their Ex Husbands -- often after the Husbands have remarried.
The working title is The Ex-Wife Chronicles we considered, as well as Sex with the Ex. A subtitle will most likely be used.
The people interviews cross several cultural background (they are not all Black). The book examples the emotions, mentality, dysfunction, and drama associated with these situations.
At any rate, if anyone has a suggestion for the title please post them here. Of course you'll get credit in the book if your title is used.
I need to get cranking on the book's website.

The "Ex-Wife Chronicles" is a rather provocative title for a book. All the names I could come up with were facetious ones, - more suitable for sub-titles:
"Encore Performances"
"One More Time!"
"The Comfort Zone"
"Deja Vous"
"Pre-Owned Vehicles"
"Hers, Mine, Ours"
Well, you get the idea. I could go on and on. |

I almost got carried away. Troy is reaching out for a few ideas and I was about to drop some mess. Although I don't like the "next" idea, I am feelin' A_women's "sEX", it's poetic. It says that, in a small way she's still a part of her ex-husband. |

LOL, "Tapping A$$ from the Past", that is too funny. "The (s)EX-Wife Chronicles: I let him go but I still give him blow!", sadly that is too common a story...
Sisg I like "Sex with the Ex" too, initially I thought it implied put the focus too much focus on the sex part of the stories. But sex sells and it should be in the title. The subtitle can clarify the intent of the book.
I was not too keen on the Ex-Wife Chronicles one cause it was biting a little on Zane's Sex Chronicles and the title mentions nothing about sex. A-womon's adjustment addresses the issue with the "(s)EX-Wife Chronicles" but that seemed even more like the Zane title.
I tried to register SEXWITHTHEEX.com needless to say it was taken. I know every English languange word has been "dot.comed", increasingly it seems every 2 an 3 word phase has been registered as will. I looked at the SEXWITHTHEEX.com websie. It is a nothing site so I registered:

Back to a subtitle:
Many of the womem engaging in sex with the ex-husbands (even husbands who have remarried) often do it with the hope of winning the man back, or who are seeking revenge against the ex-husband's new wife. Some couples just feel like the sex was the only good thing they had going and continue to get down. The subtitle should reflect this variety of stories:
Sex With the Ex: True Stories of Love, Hate and Revenge
Sex With the Ex: How and Why Sex Continues after Love Ends
My subtitles are kinda boring...

I'd like to throw a little somethin' in the pot. Since we know there are many unmarried black women, I wanted to extend the "EX" to past mates.
On the surface, it's easy to assume we are talking about good sex but as we all know the bells don't always ring. After falling into the dating game I found myself on a rough playing field. Lawd have mercy, it's a jungle out there. With that in mind a person has to be real careful. I don't think I have to explain all the dynamics involved in choosing someone to share your time and body. Finding someone to do the nasty is relatively easy. The deal is opened and closed prior to the words that actually suggest such. The problem is who else might you be sleeping with. Having said that, I can't help but believe some women, and men, just feel more comfortable with their EX. That's not to say that the sex was all that, yet, most need the touch of another. Right and wrong aside, morals too, most have a need to be needed. Doing the thang with multiple sex partners is risky behavior... with "EX" or Rex. I just feel that all the negative connotation we are so quick to apply to those that go back across the brige is unfair. Well, maybe not unfair because it happens for various reason but for several women, although it may be wrong, it's an effective way for them to express their womanhood in a somewhat safe way. |
