Do we need to be reminded of how little control we have over our lives and how infinitesmal our every day dilemas are when we consider that an asteroid just came within a cosmic eyelash of colliding with Earth, an event which would have triggered catyclismic results sending this planet into chaos. Are we here by the grace of a higher power, or have we just been lucky? Is there rhyme or reason to our existence or is our state of flux what enables us to avoid the dangers of inertia? In our status as a grain of sand on a huge desert, do we have significance in the universe or are we just suspended in limbo, randomly surviving from one nano second to the next? Duh. |

I have much more important things to worry about than a NEAR MISS by an asteroid. By the way I look at it, a nice asteroid strike would be an improvement. Maybe people could tear themselves away from their Twitter and their Text Messaging. |

In the big picture, what you consider important is no more so than twitter or texting to an asteroid on a collision course with earth. |
