Not surprising, Blago is drawing a lot of rank and file black folks into his corner. He's wooing their support by playing the ol "a man is innocent until proved guilty" card, protesting that the way he's is being treated is comparable to a lynching! He's embracing the victim role to the hilt, hoping the black community will identify with the "injustice" he insists he's being subjected to. But never have I see white folks so grimly determined to take down one of their own. The state legislators of both parties are chompin at the bit, ready to kick Blago's azz out of office as soon as possible. Proceedings begin next week, and things are expected to move very fast because no opposition is expected. |

Hello All, Yvette: Patterson is a damn idiot! I have seen that silly azz woman on several talk shows during the election and she was NOT in Obama's corner. Meaning, that when Obama tries to push his agenda through the Senate, that dizzy heifa will be leaning more towards the Republicans than the Democrats. Second, I am not sure how New York works, I will have to rely on Troy and other folks who live in the state, but Patterson picked the wrong one if ol girl can carry the rural area but not NYC itself. Isn't the majority of people in New York state in NYC? So if NYC doesn't go for this woman then she won't be returning to the Senate? Patterson is a fool and should have chosen Kennedy or Cuomo. He's as big of an idiot as Blago. |

There you go Thump, knockin' all the good black men. First it was that nice old man, Burris. Now it's the innocent blind man. I think you have a thang for the handicap. I bet you talk about me behind my back *lol*. Don't! Don't have me come down there and box your head. I know where you live . Unlike Indiana, there are some good people in NY, and Patterson is one of them. He made the right choice. |

Cynique, you need to tell 'em. Illinois is a special case. Like Louisiana. All the politicians over there are crooks. If you try to be straight none of the others will trust you or work with you. The Outfit runs the state, as it has since the Capone days. The late Wyvetter Youngue who represnted East St. Louis in the State legislature is a sorry example. The woman was straight, upright, and loved and served her constituency. She had a largely unsuccessful career and died broke. The Illinois standard is not whether somebody is a crook. Of course they are crooks. It is whether they are doing the job. If they are doing the job ok. If they are not doing the job and a crook THEN Illinoisians have a problem. It is a totally different world and system. |

How do you figure Illinois is unique, Chrishayden? I don't agree with your take. You been watching too many movies. In the year 2009, the days of the "syndicate" controlling Illinois are over. All of the capos and dons are in federal jails and the States Attorney's office is staffed with a bunch of crusading watch dogs eager to bring about reform. Yes, Black wheeler-dealers exert a lot of pull in Chicago but these petty crooks are not mob- connected. They don't even rub shoulders with street gang leaders. Mayor Daley remains above the fray, always looking the other way, blaming others for any irregularities. As a State, Illinois is actually rather conservative. It's still a big ol prairie populated with as many hicks as city slickers Yes, patronage and bribery are a fact of life around Springfield and Chicago but this is the good ol boy fraternity not the syndicate. |

And the soap opera continues... http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/US/story?id=6730220&page=1 He skips the impeachment trial to tell "GMA" that he considered Oprah for the Senate seat. |

There was a lot of pressure on Paterson to fill Hillary's spot with another woman. Since that dork Caroline Kennedy bombed out, Paterson settled on this woman from upstate New York, popular among her constituency, and a proven vote-getter who always wins her contests in a landslide, she's apparently considered an asset to the party and appointing her seems to be following a new pattern of Democrats being all-inclusive. |

Hello All, Cynique: I saw your boy Blago on The View this morning. Blago has some mental issues. It's yawl's fault that he can not call witness like Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, etc to defend his position. So he's said over and over and over and over and over again. I thought the interview was telling. It stopped being funny and it really became sad. I feel so sorry for all of you in Illinois. Blago is already embarrassing but now it seem to have made all of Illinois look bad. It's like you all got double whammy: one, Bush has made the whole country look like a joke in the world's eyes; two, now you all got Blago to make you all look bad. |

Well, Illinois law makers continually remind Blago that impeachment proceedings are not a trial, so court room protocol does not apply. And according to what I'm hearing on local TV, contrary to what Blago is claiming, he can in certain cases, question witnesses and the reason he has chosen to not show up at the hearings is because the witnesses he needs to call will expose him even more. This whole situation is very ambiguous and confusing. But everybody pretty much agrees that Blago is a psychopathic nut case. |
