Or is Barack Obama a "slap in the face" to all the Black men who thought or still think they need a White/Light-skinned woman to be successful?
I wonder how Wesley Snipes, Kobe Bryant and Montell Williams must feel looking at Michelle Obama's chocolate face and nappy hair and seeing that she is in the highest position in the world?
I wonder how there gold-digging White wives must feel seeing that they are not in the same position but instead some woman who was deemed unattractive,inhuman and beastlike by not only there White parents but by there Black husbands in that position? |

First, the premise of your question is based on an assumption and rooted in your opinion. You implied that the men on your list, married light-skinned woman as a need to feel successful. I doubt that was the reasons behind their choice. I don't know that there are black men that believe success comes through dating and marrying white women. I know of black men that date only white women but I've never asked them why they do that. It would be interesting what they thought about your question.
I know that there are black men that visit this board who are married to a white woman or light-skin woman. It would be interesting to hear what they had to say.
The mother of my oldest son is a very nice looking light-skin woman. I married a deep chocolate looking woman.
I also know that there are white women with black mates that visit this board. I wonder what they think about others that call white women gold-diggers when they marry black men that have influence.
I have an opinion of black women that think all black men fit in one box. |

women.
Of course---it won't much affect
TODAY'S Black men or the ones you
mentioned.
But the next generations of
Black children will receive an
IMAGE and MESSAGE that the dying
Hip Hop Generation did not
receive.
The White Man rules the world
through his woman---setting the
bluest eye/blondest hair as the
Human Standard and claiming a
"purity factor" for Whiteness.
The Black "race" can never rise
up or be respected until we rise
up the image of our authentic mother
--and as Malcolm X stated, she
can't be a Mulatto.
Obama, a Biracial child, has
done that and done it masterfully.
The image of Michelle
validates this Presidency as a
Black Presidency and validates
the entire African diaspora.
The image of our real mother is
being shown respect---AT LAST.

Bro Carey, I’m going to stand behind you on this one. You are absolutely correct. The very question asked speaks for mindset that generated it. No need to say anything else. This light skin/dark skin issue is tired, pathetic and sad. And marrying a white woman as a sign of success makes as much sense as an air conditioner in the Antarctic. For the record, you don’t need a white woman to be successful. And to have a white woman does not require money or success. There are thousands of extra broke azz brothers with white women. A reality that escapes those who have lost themselves in a self created psycho-paranoid skin color world. |
