We could use a bit of laughter about now!
2 ALL the singles on the AALBC board, enjoy!

Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door.
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to 'how big is my behind?'
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.

A MAN'S POEM

I pray for a deaf-mute gymnastic nymphomaniac with
huge boobs, who owns a bar on a golf course
and loves to send me fishing and drinking.
This doesn't rhyme and I don't give a dayum!

The End

$50 will be awarded to our favorite poetry project submission
For this poetry project we’re asking participants to send in “blackout poems.” Just take a page of a newspaper or magazine and create a poem by blacking out with marker everything except the words you want to keep.

In this exercise you get to practice looking for poetry where you normally wouldn’t. You have to give up control over which words you can use and in which order they appear, and you basically create poetry by omission, which makes the words that remain all the more meaningful.

Once you’ve created your poem, please scan it and submit it to us at wordletting@gmail.com as a .jpg or .gif file. (You could also take a picture of the poem and email it, as long as the poem is readable.) There is no limit to the number of poems you can submit. We’ll be posting your poems here as we get them in, and we’ll be awarding $50 to our favorite submission.
