( A poetic take precious memories, the traditional gospel standard) Precious memories linger too long here Lurking in phantasms of memory and mind. Looming in pictures, photographs, diploma’s Trophies, corporeal testaments to their children sane Precious memories flood the souls of those Who lost their children to a white flaked gabriel That took every first, second and third born to taste him. That took and calcified the dreams of lost men and women And caked them in a gravestone that read “ the crack generation” Sacred scene’s cannot unfold fast enough, dreams of A celestial meetting place where mind’s arent erased Bodies arent eroded, and souls are saved from his jagged grain And the streets that drove them to it. Precious children, lost children The unseen seems to linger ever near The hours to say too much in reminisce The past's echo is much too much to hear.
