Chris Hayden does not just associate with street people and ex pimps.
After all, he associates with the habitues of Troy Johnson's Cyber salon (scary laughter, cue the weird organ music)
I was sitting early Sunday morning in the laundromat with a noted Community activist. He runs a food pantry among other things.
We started talking about Obama (what else is there, right?)
At first we exchanged the Afrocentric hyperboles. And then we started talking history.
Our own first Black Mayor, Freeman Bosley. The first Black Mayors of East St. Louis, New York City, Chicago.
How, after running them into the ground, the white folks turned them over, and then acted like the past 100 years was all their fault.
"They done gave Obama a broke down bus!" he lamented bitterly. Then, remembering himself, he got up and started playing a video game.
Fasten your seatbelts, kiddies.
