I was wonder you you all thought. Maybe I'll refer that journalist to this site. 1) Are you aware of any interesting artistic initiatives, cultural events, or trends in NYC right now that address – directly or indirectly – the transition in Washington, the impending inauguration of Barack Obama, or more generally the political moment we are now in? 2) How – if at all – are you planning to mark the Obama inauguration? Optional third question: What, if anything, strikes you as interesting, distinctive, or worthy of journalistic inquiry, about the cultural climate right now as it relates to the ongoing economic crisis and the imminent political change? |

I might be tired now, but I have to say I'm not all that high on Obama given his appointments thus far. It seems like a lot of the same ole folk -- including that HRC... I'm not yet convinced we willwitness political change... Let me get some rest maybe I'll have a more positive outlook in the morning. |

Well he is living up to his word of not being bipartisan, with keeping on a republican and also demonstrating his ability to work across the aisle and even work with those who once were in strong opposition to him. I think he is demonstrating excellent leadership in his selections by selecting those who will handle the office given them, not just who people might expect him to choose. However, having said that, I do have some reservations on his cabinet selections, unfortunately I don't have time to share right now dagnabbit! I can't be on here right now, I will post too much and miss my deadline!!! |

What Obama is doing is "bi-partisan", a word which mean including both parties. Me, I don't know why all of you who were saying that once Obama got in we shouldn't expect him to show partiality to Blacks or to think that he can bring over-night change are now the same ones who are grumbling. His top priority has to be to try and restore stability to the economy and to shore up foreign relations. That, in itself, represents change, considering the shape the country is presently in. To do this, you assemble a panel of experts, not a crew of unproven neophytes. The change will be manifest in policy, if not people. And the continuing obsession with Hillary Clinton also escapes me. What can she do to harm Obama now? And why would she want to? She's been rewarded for her party loyalty, and it's in her best interest to go along to get along. She earned the Secretary of State job and her credentials are not without merit. Obama is proving that he in innately wise rather than vindictive. As Obama has said, the buck stops with him. He will still have the final say, and if you don't have confidence in his decision-making, then you shouldn't have voted for him and his wide-azzed wife, and their irritating daughters. |

2) How – if at all – are you planning to mark the Obama inauguration? (Somewhere making money, drunk or in prayer) Optional third question: What, if anything, strikes you as interesting, distinctive, or worthy of journalistic inquiry, about the cultural climate right now as it relates to the ongoing economic crisis and the imminent political change? (Right now there is a lot of talk. This morning I watched that asshole Chris Matthews and a crew of Liberal cheerleaders gushing over how everything Obama has done shows his genius-- It made me gag when them right wingers did it and it makes me gag now. Anyway, I am waiting to see if my Americans have changed. Whether the Obama election has cured them of being the fat, naive, horny, strung out, cowardly, ignorant, racist, violent and impatient bunch they have always been. I wouldn't bet the farm on it. I am betting he gets NO honeymoon. I am betting the first crisis he comes to he will only have Black people standing behind him. |
