Republicans have filed yet another frivolous lawsuit to block newly registered Ohio voters from voting. On Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously sided with Ohio voters and rejected a Republican lawsuit that threatened to disenfranchise more than 200,000 newly registered Buckeyes. Unable to take no for an answer, the Republicans and their allies are now turning to the Ohio Supreme Court, once again hoping to block voter registrations containing typographical and clerical errors that are not the fault of voters. These efforts come in a long line of Republican attempts in Ohio to stop voters from casting their ballots The Ohio Secretary of State's office released figures saying 94 percent of eligible Ohio voters are registered. That's something to be proud of, but instead Republican operatives are wasting time and taxpayer money trying to keep folks from voting. |

"These efforts come in a long line of Republican attempts in Ohio to stop voters from casting their ballots." I'm not surprised A_womon. But what does surprise me is these Buckeye dumb asses are still going to vote for McCain!! After eight years of secrecy, bungled diplomacy, hubris, lies and bullshit -they still can't make up their minds! THEY WANT SOME MORE!! WTF..??!! And as you well know, Ohio is a blue collar working class state, yet these white folks are torn between race and reason. It's amazing. Fyuck em'....... |

You know what NT, despite Ohio trying to revamp its image, building new or remaking old buildings into high rise condos in the center of downtown, and bringing in all these upscale fancy boutiques, and fine dining restaurants, Ohio remains at its heart a COW TOWN! And this election has proved this fact. Its really been all about race in these rural towns. However, I must tell you that the swell of support for Obama even out in the boonies, has grown exponentially! Mccain previously had a ten point lead on Obama in these areas, now he has barely a one point lead, so now they are neck and neck there! Where there once was just a sea of Mccain Palin signs, on lawns, OBAMA signs have now sprung up in large numbers. And you can drive out into farm country and see HUGE obma signs on the sides of barns! But what scares me is how the financial crisis is all but disappearing from TV here in this Republican State. And gas prices have plummeted to under 2.40 per gallon! More than a dollar cheaper than it was at the end of August! It's like the powers that be are trying their damnedest to erase the financial crisis and present the illusion of "Aw y'all see? Thangs aint as bad as those big town boys try to tell ya!" I'm sure the lie is working on some whites who are searching for any reason NOT to vote for a black man for President. |

"I'm sure the lie is working on some whites who are searching for any reason NOT to vote for a black man for President." True. Unfortunately, for many, it is a race issue. No getting around it. People like Rush Limbaugh will remind you every single day (as you know, they love him back there). But as bad as things are, I have never understood why blue collar workers, the just recently unemployed and those living on the financial edge, still mindlessly vote Republican (who have never and never will have their interests in mind). Glad to hear about those gas prices. I'll be back there in a few weeks. |
