Attended a pretty nice house party last night. Good food. Good conversation. Good music. And Good people.
Well, mostly Good people...
As the evening was rounding out and most of the foks had left, some sort of ruckus flared up more than 1/2 block down. FOUR cops cars show up.
Now although I am as curious as most, my American Black Man training manual tells me to stay the hell clear of a gathering of cops (especially those who appear to be of the 'cracker' variety). And I heeded the manual's trusty dictates.
But that naive (aka nutball) wife of mine had to be trying to rubberneck all up in what was going down. Lucking, though, I manage to snatch her up before she got too close to the fray.
So we just mostly try to spy what was going down from a safe and comfortable distance. But we could not quite see and understand what was going down.
Well, I get a call from the host of the party (and a good friend of my wife and I) a couple hours ago. As it turns out, the incident involved a Black man kicking the a$s of his girlfriend - a WHITE WOMAN. And apparently some of the neighbors spied what was going down and called the PO PO on'em.
Oh. And this is the BEST PART. The brotha was one of the BEST FRIENDS of the party host. But because the host was cleaning up and bidding farewell to departing revelers, he, like the rest of us didn't know WTF was going down.
And, of course, you gottah know that 'Becky' tried to STOP the cops from arresting dude (e.g., It ain't his fault. I 'accidentally' ran into his right cross with my face!). Apparently, that why the cops didn't immediately take dude to jail.
So here's a philosophical question for the class today. WTF makes a Black MAN kick a White WOMAN's a$s OUTSIDE, especially in a neighborhood that consists mostly of WHITE foks?
P.S.: Hell, earlier in the party, I had actually TALKED and swilled DRANKS with dude and his White chick. They seemed like a really...uh...nice couple. |

ABM, honestly I never understood what would motivate a man to beat, hit or otherwise physically assault a women, or anyone for that matter who is substaintially weaker. All manner of "men" who do this sort of thing are punks.
Obviously my man was not worried about administering the beat down in a white neighborhood I have no idea why, but obviously times have changed. It was not too long ago when "reckless eyeballing" of a white woman would get you lynched.
I tried to image a white man kicking a Black woman's butt on the streets of Harlem... I don't think so. |

Good question ABM, just as Troy stated, man father used to say the same ...he said only punks hit on women or children. But of course ol'boy messed up ...well first there's "becky", now "that" will make a brotha snap. Now, throw a little Bumpy face or Jack Daniels in the mix and lawrdy lawrdy ...And ...AND, you know Jennifer ain't never gonna be loyal ...that Mandingo thang probably hit her right around by the refrigerator ...oh yeah, yawl know they butterflys.
On a side note ...if the Po Po don't get you in the wash, he'll get you in the rinse. Look at Weasley Snipes ...yawl know that poor boy love him some pink toe as much as Chris loves pork. Shit, got his dumb a$$ up in jail because he didn't pay tax on that night gown he was bringing back for that "Melody". Brothas just won't learn ...Lionel Riche should have stay with his Brick House instead of running off to flatass's house.
I think the question should be ...Do real Brothas "hit" white girls...I don't think so. I ain't saying a little coffee in the cream don't happen but....Daaam. |

Troy brought up an interesting thought ...excuse me ABM, I don't intend to flip the script but this is kind of tied in. Troy said what about a white man kicking the butt of a black women on the streets of Harlem...yeah, he'd have some problems and it wouldn't be police. But on a side note, what about a black women even being with a white man? Now that's nasty! I wonder what the wordsmiths in TC'S Corner have to say about that!? |

(Many's the time a black man justified his dalliance with a white woman to me by explaining that he loved to see The Man's face when he was with His Woman.
The justification was needed because usually this was one of them militant dashiki wearing brothers.
I never bought it.
I have noticed a high incidence of violence in black white relationships--some of them, anyway.
The brother was acting out some psychodrama there. Rubbing it in all their faces.

But Chris, you redefined the Troy's statement. He didn't say cops. It wasn't a black cop kicking Becky's a$$. Hey, but make no mistake about, I think even a white cop would think long and hard about steppin' in a black women ass in Harlem ...and if he stepped too hard their WOULD be hell to pay. |

He'd had A LOT to drank. Still, he HAD to know better.
I can understand a man striking a woman who struck him first (If you hit, you should expect to get hit back. Dayam the size, strength or sex-gender differences.). But I don't understand the desire to pummel a woman you're later going to want to kiss and make love to.
I agree that some serious PUNK type sheht there!

I honestly believe that sex and domestic violence very often are a complementary mix of relationships between Black men and White women.
I believe some Black men who exclusively date White women do so because they intend to do thing with and to those women they wouldn't dare consider doing to Black women.
And the White women WANT them to do such. |
